Friday 6th February - day five: Simons Town.

'Move on day': so it was time for jamming everything into the suitcase, sitting on top of it whilst the zip was closed and carrying it, double handed, down the steps and into the car.

It was also a morning of 'little logistical problems', as all our gear, plus the cycle had to travel over to Cape Town and it wasn't going to fit easily!

In the end Geoff rode ahead, getting some serious cycling miles in, (taking in Black mountain and Chapman's Peak), while Judith drove the hire car along one of the arguably prettiest/spectacular roads in the Southern Hemisphere (Chapman's Peak Drive) into Hout Bay.

We later arrived in Cape Town, Green point and found our 'home' for the next four days "The Big Blue Backpacker. Very conveniently placed for the city centre and all of the surrounding attractions.

INTERESTING FACT: A sterling pound equals approximately 17.5 Rand to the pound. A litre of fuel is approximately 9.5 Rand = 0.62p a litre!!!!
