We are staying in a rather sweet little B&B called Liberty Lodge on the slopes of Table Mountain. Like all houses of a certain age it is claimed to have been a bordello at some point.

The weather is nicely sticky, though the locals complain that its a bit cold overall and that global warming is doing odd things to the climate.

Mike C has jetted back off to London - it was great to travel with him for a week or so. It was a shame to finish with a loss at Newlands, but the sun was shining all day, and there was something for everyone. Poor old Dan Vettori was so keen to win and salvage something from the tour, but the team were not quite up to it on the day. The NZ batting was too conservative for too long, and Herschelle Gibbs knocked the runs off quickly and without fuss. The Newlands crowd were distinctly less feral than their PE counterparts. Quite a different atmos.

Next stop, Sun City, and a wee bush lodge just inside the Pilanesberg game reserve.
