This week has been a good experience having so few people in the house because with only seven of us, all the volunteers could pile into a single van and be delivered to our respective placements. I have gotten to see where the other people are working in the townships. I have also been able to enjoy Mr. Malinga’s extensive music selection. As we ride through Cape Town we have our own soundtrack which we can listen to and absorb the sights.

I have been missing my car and driving in general. So five of us last weekend rented a car and went down the coast to a place called Hermanus. What makes this place special is that you can see whales from the shore and be rather close in fact. We also survived the experience of driving on the opposite side of the road. Ill probably rent a car and go down to the southern most point of Africa in a few months. Should be lots of fun.

Just so you all know, you can click on the images to see a larger version. Also, I wanted to personally thank all of you for reading and taking interest in my blog. What everyone has said in either comments or messages has been absolutely beautiful and I feel really touched. Thanks so much.

Sailing to Antarctica
Hey Noah. These photos are terrific, the best so far I think. Now I really get a sense of what things look like and the relationship of one place to another. So, if you stand where those fishermen are and look out to sea where the whales are, is that south? Are those waters from Antarctica? What does Mr. Malinga listen to on his tapes? Is there great local South African music? Over and out from another continent. Love, Mom
