Last Full Day in Cape Town
Friday 5th Jan 2007-01-05

Hard to believe that we are heading off tomorrow James on his way back to London and Moi off to Jo’burg and beyond.

The Show was at a small theatre called ‘On Broadway’ the plot was a spoof based on Brokeback Mountain, there were lots of Afrikaans jokes that we would not have got, if it were not for the people on the next table explaining them. Very funny show and a good dinner.

Friday was a Shopping day in the Victorian shopping district of Long Street where we spent the morning browsing the shops and markets for bargains. Lunch was at the famous Mamma Africa on Long Street. After Lunch we walked up to the Muslim settlement, Bo-Kaap its amazing how colourful the houses were (we think there was a competition to find the brightest colour), again very different architecture.

Headed up to the Table Mountain Cable Car as the clouds had lifted off the mountain top, outstanding views from the top and some fabulous Flowers and Lizards too.

It seems fitting that our last evening was spent in a restaurant called ‘Blues’ in Camps Bay; as we both feel that we have the end of holiday blues and would like at lease a few more days exploring this striking part of the continent of Africa. We will be coming back here as we have not been able, this trip to ride an Ostrich!
