6 Nov - drive to Tsitsikama. En route we stop off at Jeffrey's Bay aka J'Bay. Few hours to explore, walk along the beach, watch the surfers then shop. There's a Billabong factory outlet - for 330 Rand (approx GBP 25) I get a lilac tshirt, skirt and board shorts!! We have lunch at a picnic site on the beach - our best lunch view to date.

Arrive at Tube n' Axe backpackers at Storm River mid afternoon, set up camp then drive to the highest bridge bungee in the world. This ain't for me...I'll jump out of a plane, but don't make me bungee 😊 The brave (or stupid) ones are Miho, Peter, Charlie and Nav while the rest of us support from the bar. Looks horrendous but they all seem to enjoy the adrenalin rush. Back to camp for dinner then head to bar but all rather subdued. End up in the Ding Dong's tent with Charlie for a midnight chat and some oregano (I'll explain later!).

7 Nov - Tsitsikama is Khoisan for place of much water...it certainly is, it pours down at breakfast, v miserable. Due to the slippery conditions and not having had room to pack my walking boots, I give the 3hr walk / scramble a miss. Instead a few of us do the low level trail which takes about 1 hour to the suspension bridge and the mouth of Storm's River. Different scenery yet again with forested hills going straight into the ocean. The sun eventually comes out but we still don't manage to spot any whales along the coast.

Back at camp Janet excels herself in the kitchen and we have a fantastic dinner of sushi and meatballs with pap. Everyone having an early night so I chat to some gappers in the hostel, play pool with Nav then head to bed.
