I came to Morocco blindly. For three of the seven weeks I've been gone I have stayed with families (a week a piece in Barcelona, Valencia, and Granada). There are 100 words for love in Arabic and I loved my family. Samira and Mohamed are amazing parents. He is a geology professor at the local university and works on a committee dealing with water conservation in Africa. Samira used to work in a bank, but since they built this apartment building she has been working on the house full-time. They aren't able to send Sarah or Oumima abroad to study at the moment, so they decided to bring students from all over the world into their home.

This was a really special meal. They usually save it for dinner, but I had to leave early to catch my train so they made it for lunch. This was my first meal after being sick the day before. They had been feeding me spoonfuls of coriander to get me back on my feet (and it worked)!
