Gladiator had a few scenes filmed here..so so did many other movies! Beautiful peaceful village. You had to walk across the river..and kids will help you and ask you for money...Solution? stick you hands in your pocket so they can't help u!^^
Just back from my trekking trip!!
Morocco has amazing landscapes.. in one day, went from warm lowlands to high mountains to snowcapped views. Then the next day on a camel in the Sahara!!!!!!

Most of the trip spent on the 4x4, so it was a little boring. It was a nice group though, met many people and learned many things! They gave me lots of advice on my ongoing trip as well! all those people have already travelled though Europe!! and they are all AT LEAST trilingual! English, French + one more language of their own!!! ahhhh, I felt so useless there.....

So, Morrocan cities and countries are very diff ne. People in the mountains are a lot friendlier...haaaa! Not surprising. It isnt as poor as I thought and there were lots of schools. Morroco has more water than I thought as well!!! many rivers and trees as we drove through...
No need to say la, the view was superb!!

That night, stayed at this hotel next to the river....SO NICE!!!! much better than mine in Marrakec...haaa...and they served us very nice dinners!!!=)

Next day continue on and in the evening, finally arrived at the side
Berber facewrap!Berber facewrap!Berber facewrap!

This mask thing is difficult to wrap and STAY! mine fell off halfway through the camel ride......thank god it wasn't too windy! haa
of the desert. It was so rocky!!!!! all black rocks right next to the desert. From far you can see high sand dunes already!! stunning view ah! and more surprising is, between the rocks and the dunes, there was a HUGE LAKE! I guess this must be an Oasis.....
Anyways, got on the camels and started our ride to see sunset. Camels are worst than horses...and in the lumpy sand, its hard work to ride ne!!but it was fun. The day was cloudy so the sunset was alright only.
Arrived at our tents, then we all went to climb a 200metre high sanddune! Oh god...that was tough exercise!!!! the slope was steep and walking on sand was never easy.....
I finally made it and gosh, the view was excellent!!!!!!!!! I wish I could upload the pix......later la..haaaa
Next was going down the dune. just walking bare foot sliding on the sand....I love that!!!!!it was so fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!^^

Had a berber style dinner, eating with our hands! haaa, then heard some trad. music. then it was bedtime lu. The tent was made of wool carpet! Super warm!

Next dat woke up at 5 to see sunrise.....had to walk up the
The light of heaven!!!The light of heaven!!!The light of heaven!!!

Oh my, that was the edge of the desert! A big lake and beautiful sunbeams!! such a magical moment. Then you turn your back and its all this orangey sand...
dune again but it was WORTH it!!!! god....so beautiful....the sky was so clear! no clouds at all!!!!!!!!! Didnt know the sun rise so fast...haaaa
After seeing from the dune, I walked back down and guess what.....
I saw sunrise again!! haaa this time at the bottom seeing it rise from the dunes; the one b4 was rising from the horizon....haaaa....;;super happy!
So then camel ride again and back on the 4x4.

This was the final return ride so it was nonstop driving almost. When we headed back to the mountains, I got really carsick and puked......ahhhh that was the worst part of the trip! so I still have a headache...><

Overall, great experience! Next off to a coastal city Essaouria and then the big city Casablanca!

The most beautiful moment of the trip, the sunset and this Sunrise!!! the 200metre climb was all worth it!
