On the coast of Morocco there is a picturesque and beautiful fishing village called Essaouira. We had not heard of this town until a few weeks ago when we had Dave and Suz over to our apartment for dinner (The Overlanders). This is one of the towns they explored when they came to Morocco and we are so happy that they mentioned it or we might not thought to stop here. We admit that a first glance o... Read Full Entry

So great that you made it there!
Hi guys. Loved reading your blog and looking at the photos. It brought back such fond memories for us of Essa! Hope you can make it to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou too - it is well worth the trip. :D S+D

So good hearing from you.
We are so happy you told us about Essaouria. We had a lovely time there. We are currently waiting for our transportation to the airport in Casablanca. Our trip has come to an end and we will be back in the US before you know it. Keep traveling and keep writing.

Thank you
What a wonderful trip! It was so much fun hearing about your experiences and seeing the lovely pictures. Keep traveling and educating those of us who haven't been to such places. Where is your next adventure? Carolyn/Gunga

Add this one to your list
Morocco is one of the more modern 3rd world countries in some ways and not in others. Easy to travel around. Fantastic foods and culture.

Goats in Argon Trees
This is one of your best photos. I love learning about places I may never get to visit except through your eyes.

Goats in Argon Trees

Hi Carol,
Glad you enjoyed our goats. They are too cute and what a scam. Oh well, ya got to make a living. One day you'll travel and we can give you some suggestions. Love and keep in touch.

Interesting about the goats in the argon trees...you are right they are cute and a very strange sight! Seems like you enjoyed Morocco and have the obligatory beer pic there ;) Really enjoyed reading your Morocco blogs, seems like a fascinating country and one which we really should have made it to while we lived in the UK...oh well, we'll add it to the list!

You have traveled far and wide
I laugh because you have been so many places that we have not made it to-- hopefully some day. We have enjoyed Morocco and hope you will explore this country full of kind people and rich flavors. Thanks for the comment.

Great post!
Essaouira is amazing. I've been there several times and you've done it justice! Great photos, too. Yes, those goats do go up in those precious Argan trees. Although they really shouldn't as the trees are getting damaged. Poor things. Glad you enjoyed Morocco!

Hi Joel,
So glad you have enjoyed our ramblings about Morocco. We had a grand time. We are sad to head back to work.

Goats in trees
Just yesterday my daughter was talking about goats in trees in Morrocco, and today I reasd about it in your blog...quite a coincidence. I've enjoyed your blogs about Morrocco and will likely add it to my list of places to visit.

Sounds like our blog was timely
The goats were cool. I guess they enjoy the nuts of the trees. I imagine you would enjoy Morocco. What part of Colorado are you located in?

Sunset & a brew

Hi Mel,
The beer photos always gain attention. The beaches were lovely and even the cloudy sunset was amazing. We are in JFK trying to get back to SF. Our flight leaving Casablanca was delayed 7 hours for mechanical reasons. We are bound to get home eventually.

I'm sold
This will definitely be a destination sooner rather that later. We were recently at an auction at which we bid on and bought a photo safari to South Africa so possibly we could combine Morocco and South Africa in one trip. How long were you in Morocco? How did you find your guide? Always love your trip blogs. Sonja

Response from Bob and Linda
We live in Woodland Park, about 30 minutes west of Colorado Springs in the mountains. Last week we were visited by Slowfeet, David and Pat. They said they would be seeing you when they got to San Francisco. They are wonderful people and you will enjoy their visit, as did we. If you ever come this way, stop for a visit!

Hello Bob and Linda
We would love to hook up with you when we come that way. We are actually considering the Denver area for retirement. We will drive that way next year on the way back to Ohio.

Considering Colorado for Retirement
We look forward to your visit next year on your way to Ohio. We retired here six years ago after having checked out all 50 states. We love it, so check Woodland Park out!

You will enjoy Morocco!
The geology changes frequently. It can be both subtle and dramatic. The people are the best. ..........and the foods are amazing.
