Over a year after starting to apply for jobs in Africa and hundreds of emails later we've finally made it. We're not quite in the middle of nowhere/small district hospital or clinic as we origionally intended but are in a big busy hospital in a fair sized city full of ex-pats and bars. Hi Angus and Em, Your pictures are amazing. I have to say I really like your tank! I'm so impressed with what you are doing. Em I left your email address and contact details at St George's Hospital and told them to send a package to you with anything they can spare. They said it would be highly unlikely that they would have neoflons as we use so many of them. But hopefully they will send you some stuff! I start at Great Ormond Street in a couple of days doing endocrinology which should be cool. I just went to the Royal Academy to see an art exhibition (Modigliani- it was amazing!!!) and I'm just thinking how completely different life is in other countries compared to UK. Hi, I've just read your blog and enjoyed it alot. I read that you visit Open Arms Infants Home once a week, I'm actually going to Malawi in September to volunteer at Open Arms for 6 weeks so may see you there! It's great to see so many pictures of Blantyre and surrounding areas, I haven't been able to find many pics of Blantyre itself. Anyway, hope you're still enjoying it! I'm really looking forward to coming to Malawi, especially now after reading this blog! Fi :0)

Hi guys, We've just sent a mass email out asking for news from home to keep us entertained in Uganda and then I realised ....oops but we haven't even been keeping up to date with you our fellow expat exdtmh workers. Life here in Mbarara sounds similar, full of highs and lows. We enjoyed reading about and admiring your south american trip, for some of which we were still languishing in the colds of England, the pictures looked amazing. Meeting up with Rory and Scottish John next week, say hi to Oli and Louisa. Must meet up soon. Love Jane

Hey Angus I lost your website address but managed to find it again by doing a Google search! You are Em are looking well in the photos. I thought you'd have lost loads of weight due to food shortage. Hi Angus and Emily and Happy New Year! I have been a little bit slow of the mark at keeping in contact since DTMH. So hows it going?? Malawi sounds pretty full-on with bars on your windows etc and work sounds busy - hope you had some time off over Christmas and New Year. How long are you in Malawi for? Are you still going to go home via NZ - very much on the way. Would love to see you if you do.
