Tiwi Beach, Kenya
Our view from the campsite.Well, over the past month duey's beard has grown to an outrangeous length, you might not even recognize him! The kids sure get a chuckle out of his beard and long hair too!
We have been to the coast of kenya Tiwi Beach, and onto Tanzania where we spent my birthday on the tropical paradise of the island Zanzibar. Pictures will not do it justice! Had an awesome time and then moved onto Malawi "the warm heart of Africa" where we have been for the past ten days. Right now we are in Nhakata Bay, probably the most touristy place in Malawi, a bustling little town. The people here are incredibly friendly and helpful, and even give us the "local" price instead of the tourist one which is what we have been accustomed to.
Have gotten to take some interesting methods of transportation such as the back of a huuuge truck filled with rice, fish and other people. Hired sme guys on bikes (with all of our packs!!) to take us to the Malawi border. Have carried babies on my lap for a few hours while being crammed with 20 others in minibuses an have walked 12 kilometers with
The boat to Zanzibar Island
The choas of unloading cargo all of our gear to get to a campsite on the lake! The travel just keeps getting more and more interesting!
Have really enjoyed camping along the lake and tom are off to take the Ilala ferry South down the lake to Monkey Bay where we will head on to Mozambique and Zimbabwe. The pictures will explain more than we can say. Hope everyone is doing well, and Happy Thanksgiving!
