Some pics from Harar, a long 9 hr bus ride east of Addis. An Islamic community with Somali influences, with very colorful markets. We stayed in the Old City which has about 40,000 residents surrounded by 1000 yr old wall with 5 gates. Cobblestoned narrow lanes, with no signs, fantastic to waunder, but glad we had Sheriff to guide us. Will post the pics as this second, we have internet.

Wow
Joyce just sent me link. Great stuff. Love the camels, no way I'd have done the climb, love the churches and people, but don't need an Obama pen!!! Travel safe

Happy New Year!
Hi guys we are finally back from Sri Lanka and catching up on your blog. Ethiopia looks amazing. You have wonderful pictures. I especially love the market snaps! Also fun to review your snaps from Sri Lanka last year and see what it was really supposed to look like from the top of Lion Rock. We saw clouds and lots and lots of rain! Enjoy the rest of your travels and I can't wait to hear about the Seychelles!
