Unlike a lot of fellow travellers, I tend to only dip my feet into a country, quite often only staying a day or two before heading off somewhere else.

Ignorance I think you've lived all your life on a steady diet of CNN and BBC, and their parachute journalists. Travelling affords you a chance to learn things you never knew before. Just make sure you don't perpetuate the ignorance of your relatives and friends who're reading your blog back home. Try and watch Al Jazeera news once in a while
Thanks for the comment rwentobo. However, please read the very first line of my entry about Addis Ababa. What I wrote about was a attempt to dispel the myths portrayed in the media, and if you had read my piece, then you would've surely realised this.
