Just a quick entry to tell everyone we arrived safe and sound! We had a very nice (but LONG) flight, arriving into Bole airport around 7pm right on schedule. We were met by our in-country coordinator Yayu, a very nice and talented man. We look forward to getting to know him better over the course of the visit. The flight was made all the more exciting because we shared it with a celebrity-Deriba Merga, the winner of the 113th Boston Marathon!. We were even able to congratulate and meet him briefly at the gate.
The Hilton is quite lovely. Busy and full of international guests. We are looking forward to a dip in the "best swimming pool in Ethiopia".
Yayu will be picking us up in about 30 minutes to visit the foster home to meet Tigist for the first time. We are anxious and excited!

We're so glad you arrived safely! And enjoyed a delicious-looking dinner! How AMAZING that you happened to be on the flight with Deriba Merga!? Next time you see a Boston Marathon winner, I hope it will be because you're visiting Boston. ;-) What a big day you have ahead today. I'm sending prayers/good vibes to all three of you.
