On arrival in Abu Simbel one of the members of our tour became very sick on the train he had a temperature of 41, he was delirious and did not know his name or where he was so he had to be taken to a doctor…. (he was put on a drip) I hope that what he had doesn’t spread.
The rest of us headed over to our hotel where we could settle in, have a shower and prepare for a boat trip over to see a stunning Temple of Isis at Philae Island. After returning to the hotel to change cloths we then headed out again to visit a local Nubian family in order to sit down and enjoy some traditional food in the chiefs’ residence.
The food was very nice, the houses around here very rarely have roofs and consist of just a few walls often no doors and some mats sometimes made from plastic. One thing all Egyptians are not without surprising enough is satellite television, no matter how simple their living conditions may seem to look like from the outside, they still have pay TV..
