After a number of hours driving, we cross the border into Botswana. At the border we crossed Limpopo River, where we were greeted by a monkey on the other side of the fence. As an American I did not need a visa. I don't think any of the people on the group did. So it was pretty easy and quick. It was my second stamp in my passport. :-) At the end of the long drive, we arrived at the Khama Rhino Sanctuary located in Serowe. The Sanctuary helps protect the wildlife, especially Rhinos from poaching. There are many Poaching lookout platforms throughout the Sanctuary. It was established in 1992 and lays on the Kalarahi. Khama rhino sanctuary to baines baobabs We were all up early to watch the amazing sunset with a cup of coffee and a rusk around a newly lit fire courtesy of our resident boy scout Adrian. We decided to head out for a morning drive to find a few of the 46 resident rhinos. We saw a number of different species of animals which included a couple of black back jackals, a few zebra and as usual impala(the happy meal in the animal kingdom) and as you have probably noticed there was no mention of rhino in that sentence because we had not seen any which had been quite disappointing .
