If you are going one place in the Middle East, make it Jordan. And if you are going only one place in Jordan, make it Petra. You can't leave Middle East without visiting this magic city.

Petra is one of the site that I was most looking forward to see in the entire Middle East region, and I always dreamed of going to Jordan, not because of Petra is one of the World's 7 Wonders, and made itself a famous Hollywood movie Indiana Jones, but witness this 1700 years old magic city of the Kingdom of Edom, built during the Roman period.

We left Amman that day morning and the bus took us 300km away down to south and we reached Wadi Mousa, the city where Petra located, in just 4 hours. The bus dropped me off top of the city, I hadn't booked a hostel but had picked a hostel out of my guidebook that I was going to head to. I walked down 2km down the hill with all my bags, and reached one of the hostel featured in my guidebook, I asked the guy whether the room provides with heating system and he said yes to me and end up I nearly died in the folowing morning.

Ticket for the huge Petra town isn't cheap, 1 day pass was Euro 22, unless if you wish camp inside the ruins, otherwise a day visit should be covered most important parts, make sure you come out before the sun goes down otherwise you will get a huge trouble. Since Petra supposed visit during morning so we first of all, spent a night in Wadi Mousa, the hotel we stayed wasnt so pleasant, it was bitterly -13c, but I guessed colder than that, without any heating system in my hotel, I was covering and wearing almost everything from my suitcase, covered up with 5 lamb wool blankets and 3 socks, I still couldn't sleep well at all. I woke up at 7 and went down for my breakfast, and my first (and last) Turkish Coffee ever, I told myself I will never have my second cup in my life. It tasted extremely bitter and somewhat, sour, maybe, just weird anyway.

I approached the entrance by passing the ticket office right next to the Swiss brand Movenpick Hotel, I had expected something quite different, a much narrower entrance in this huge lost geographical amusement park, but the way in was wide enough that pony drawn carts with passengers rumbled past on the rough canyon road. Finally we reached 2 km long narrow street, I had no idea of where I was really going until the narrow 45 minutes walk through the siq ends most dramatically as we round a corner and the 43m high Treasury comes into view, the most impressive, highlights, and stunning of all Petra’s and Middle East Roman's structures, it was totally amazing and breathtaking, and I was shocked by the architecture techonology of an ancient.

After The highlights of Petra, went through the Roman Square, th Old Market, Royal Tombs, I walked up to the remote part of Petra, on a mountain ledge 3200m high above, some little girls selling her goods on a small table, and they have donkeys available if you feeling tired of getting down form the mountain.
