After a lonesome week in southern Patagonia, witnessed the desolated, deserted cold town in the far South and the only movable glacier in the world, however, the northern part of Patagonia seems polluted, commercial, busy, crowded, but warmer part of Argentina - San Carlos de Bariloche, usually known as Bariloche, the famous spots in Central Argentina, bordering with Chilean Patagonia, and its surrounding is also one of the most spectacular regions in Argentina. To be honest, getting to Bariloche is never cheap, especially when we flying from the south. First of all we had to fly back north to Buenos Aires and change another plane down to south again, it's wasting time and money but as Argentina is very long and narrow, getting anywhere within the country is always involves airplanes, and always up and down ... read more

Vienna, was a lot more commercial and busy than the neighbouring cities like Frankfurt and Zurich to me, there were people everywhere, and I was so lucky that I had a day off in this beautiful city so I decided to explore the famous historical Germanic city in this country. The airport is located around 20km east of Vienna and given its name, one of the most expensive city in Western Europe, the ticket was surprisingly cheap despite Vienna is an expensive city, 1.8 Euro one way to Stephansplatz in downtown, also where the famous St. Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansdom) is located. The train from airport left exactly on time, I was not expected to this after my trip in Bosnia and then I quickly reminded myself that this is an Austrian train. The train was very ... read more

When Bosnia is mentioned, a lot of people normally think of war and death, but when I found out about their famous 15th century bridge, I am sure it would be amazing to see how Bosnia had recovered from pains and wounds. Time flies quickly in Montenegro and I left Kotor at 7:00am and had a long day of bus travel. It was 3 hours journey to Dubrovnik in Croatia, spent my quick lunch right opposite of the bus station, and another 3 more hours to Mostar, in Bosnia. And I was so happy to eventually arrived and double happiness for the personal pick up from the bus station by the hostel guy. I had a very mixed feeling and felt really strange before I stepping into this country, as I knew all about the country ... read more

After my week break in Slovenia, I have finally made my way to Moscow, and I decided to stay in Moscow for 24 hours, before I make my way to Siberia Arriving at Moscow's second largest Domodedovo Airport from Frankfurt was straight forward and easy, and I was so proud of myself that the passport that I am holding is actually one of the very few passport which do not required Visa in to Russia, the immigration process was perhaps too easy and straight forward, I was immediately given an Entry Permit, and there is full name in Cyrillic and required to keep with one's person all the time, and required to register with police within 72 hours, but similar to most CIS Countries, usually this should be done by your hotel staffs upon request. Upon ... read more

After my few days hiking and rafting in Gorenjska, Northwest of Slovenia, and I eventually made my way to Ljubljana, only 90 mins away by local train or bus, and I arrived this little but famous historical city in Central Europe. The bus ride pretty cheap, 5 Euro getting to the capital and the journey was pretty good and worth doing during the day, where I had more than enough time to explore the gorgeous green country side of the capital upon arriving into the city, and I can promptly tell myself that the city is quite small but pretty looking from outside. As mentioned above, the city is quite small, it's about the same size as Tallinn with around 300,000 residents, or it might be smaller than any cities in England, and once you are ... read more

I was quite amazed that I woke up on time right before the alarm was due to on, even though I had very bad moment before I went to sleep due to some other fellows in the hostel were thunderous snoring, but I still had a very good sleep, after my long tiring rides from Olkhon Island. To see this great lake in Siberia, there is another way to explore - The Circumbaikal Railway. The 94km long railway, an essential way to explore the lake by tons of travellers nowadays, used to be part of Trans-Siberian Railway from Moscow in early 1910s but did not really used until they constructed and extended into Mongolia. Nowadays the railway still running as twice weekly return purpose, mostly packed with local visitors or weekend break students. My main reason ... read more

No trip to Siberia is complete without going Lake Baikal, while no trip to Lake Baikal is complete without going Olkhon Island. I was not planning to visit this huge island when I was planning trip to Lake Baikal, as it's not so easy to get there and takes plenty of time, considering the distance around 110km from Irkutsk, the trip takes exceptionally long. Lake Baikal, located in Siberian Far East of Russia, although it's not the world's largest lake, but it's the world's deepest, 1800m in depth, the oldest, 2500 years, and contains 25% of world's fresh water. On my second morning in Irkutsk, I was picked up by the Full of people's Minivan and I crammed myself in the last only seat, and headed Northeast. The 9 hours rides was really bumpy and not ... read more

After a comfortable long plane trip from my hometown, the most exciting part of which was of course flying over the Alps near Austria and Bavaria, just half an hour before I landed in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Before I came to this tiny country in Central Europe, the most difficult thing was the strange name of the capital, and after consulting so many articles and forums and finally I have found out the correct pronouce of Ljubljana is just simply "Lu-Bli-Yana". On my first day in Bled was almost too easy, the bus system and everything is so easily understand, almost everything is catered for lazy travellers. The little town is surrounded by mountains, old Bled Castle up of the cliff and little church island in the middle of the lake, and it's also ... read more

As my flight from Moscow approaching Irkutsk after 5 hours, the largest city in the Russian Far East, and the city next to the world's deepest lake - Lake Baikal, I woke up just before the the sun rises and I slightly open the window shade, the view out of the plane was impressive, and as the plane got closer to the airport in Irkutsk, I started to see more signs of city, but even being the largest city in Russian Far East, then the city is compact, and still looks green, tidy and neat from above. The airport is very basic and small, generally it's just two rooms shack, I entered one room after walking from the plane, and when walk 10 meters further, I am outside already, exiting the terminal building and into the ... read more

I had never heard of this small Venitian City of Kotor before I read the story about this tiny ex-Yugosalvian country of Montenegro, the newest country in the world, and having read about its cultures, and this famous fjord, I knew it was a place I had to visit. I slept almost 10 hours on the flight to Frankfurt em Main, the flight was quite empty and the check-in staff in Hong Kong was very nice and blocked 2 of the seats next to me so that I can have whole row to sleep, despite I am 6" tall in height, travelling in cattle class is not always enjoyable. Frankfurt Airport is not my first choice make it as transit stop because it is unbeatable with Amsterdam Schipol and Istanbul Ataktuk, the main temrinal is same ... read more
