Need some backpack advice

New to backpacking :-)

Im off traveling in a couple of months and wanted a durable good value backpack. I am going away for 6th months to the following countries, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, America and Canada.

I need somthing that is strong and sturdy and comfortable aswell, I was thinking about going for a 65litre pack?

It would be good also if it came with its own waterproof cover and good zips etc which could easily have padlocks fitted to them for security. Plenty of side pockets would also be useful.

Ive also heard the buzzword adjustable back system which is supposed to make the pack more comfortable. Can anyone recommend any good brand names or actual packs?

The most important thing is that the zips or lining does not break.

Thanks for any advice! Reply to this
