Books to help me plan?

I'm looking for any recommendations for good books to show me what's out there for my RTW trip.

I'm in the preliminary stages of planning a RTW trip, and I'm getting slowed down because I'm not totally sure what each potential stopping location would/could offer. Can anyone recommend specific books for me to take a look at that will show me what each country has to offer? Much appreciated! Reply to this

Hey Jeremy,

I bought Rough Guide - First Time Round the World , this book covers most things about planning, what to take and where to go, and what to expect when you're out there. It's just a basic, start up style guide but it has some good tips for a first timer.

Hope this helps you and happy travels!
Al.

I borrowed lots of the Lonely Planet on a Shoestring continent guides from the library. I had to order them in some cases, but it cost less than a pound. You can borrow them for a couple of months. Then I had lots of info to look through to help narrow down the ideas. Reply to this

This is not really a book about a specific place, but it's full of advice on long term traveling

Vagabonding by Rolf Potts...I bought it in Amazon for $4...money well spent

Good luck!!!
