chilled2thecore Matt & Carla Post Count: 8 Msg: #1 118 weeks ago, October 3rd 2007 | We opened a Nationwide account before travelling and it was fantastic as you can withdraw your cash for free anywhere (obviously the machine you are using may charge you but that only happened a few times most countries have ATM\'s that don\'t charge). | We must have saved hundreds of pounds with this account and it meant we could withdraw small amounts of cash instead of walking round with loads of local currency and never had to get travellers cheques despite being away 12 months. No fees unless you go over agreed overdraft limit which is fair enough. The online banking system is pretty good too - nice and easy to use plus you can hold the majority of your money in their 'high interest' e-savings account and move it over to your flex account (the one your debit card is for) instantly which means you are earning decent money on your lump sum savings and it also helps you to control your spending a bit more as you can just put across what you need when you need it. | Number of Users: 3 | Number of Posts: 4 | ||||||||||||
