What is your favourite form of transport?

As much as I enjoy driving, I have to say that I love traveling by train.
When you travel by train there is practically none of the demeaning hassle one has to deal with when driving like: traffic jams, diversions, unknown roads.
In addition, I like the slow pace of land-based travel, but sometimes the train is travelling zero miles an hour for a long time and youโ€™re thinking to yourself that you could walk to your destination faster which is a lie and you know it is, be realistic here.

Hello Steven and welcome to travel blog.

We share your enjoyment and passion for train travel. The slow rocking motion and white noise of the steel on the tracks. I guess it is romantic to be riding the rails.

We like being able to relax, read and chat with fellow travelers. We've seen some beautiful things from those railway windows.

Of the train rides you have taken do you have a favorite? Reply to this

When I first read this thread, the image of one looking out of the window of a moving train came to mind instantly. While I am a proponent for cheaper alternative modes of transport, train has got to be my favourite, no doubt.

Especially when it comes to scenic rides, it can just keep my eyes glued to the outside for hours! Reply to this

There can be a tug of war between the way we prefer to travel and the way our budget will allow us to travel for an extended period of time. Reply to this

we love train rides and our patience was tested hard when we took the Trans-Siberian in 2011.

looking out of the window at beautiful landscape, which is not a highway or dusty road is a big advantage for sure as well

we also found train more secure in majority of countries and much more comfortable to sleep in..so thumbs up for trains in our opinion:-) Reply to this

My favourite type of transport would have to be by train because of its slow and gentle way of travel. I also like the fact that trains are land travel as opposed to an airplane. Airplanes seem riskier than being on a train. Reply to this

I personally love to travel by ferry, apart from the routine bus and train journeys. I feel much pleasure traveling across the sea. Reply to this

Agreed, I love taking trains. When I was traveling in the UK, I almost take this tool each time I transform from a different place. I enjoy the feelings sitting in the train and watch the amazing views from outside of the window. Reply to this

I prefer to use my car, but unfortunately it takes too much time to reach my destination. That is why I'm traveling by plane. Here is the website which is rich of good deals for travel and accomodation.

Hi,

I like traveling, but coming to my transportation based on travel distance i will prefer train, bus or car. If it is less than 12 hours journey i will prefer train. If it is less than 5 hours journey i will prefer Bus journey, if it is a family trip to destinations then i will prefer to go by car. In all these i like traveling by car. If it is within city if the distance is 1 km i prefer to walk.

Thank you. Reply to this

I think Airway is best way of transport in very less time. All other way is time consuming except the travel range were near by your area. Reply to this

My favorite form of transport is depend upon the situation and condition of places where i travel. But hire taxi or luxury cab is my first preference on vacations trip with family members. Because i never want they face any kind of problem during long journey so i always book cab and accommodation in advance. I usually ,snip, please no advertising in the forums> cab company for transportation facilities in Cambridge area. Reply to this

It totally depends on the distance of your destination.
for shorter distance i would prefer Bikes, cabs and Buses and for longer routes i'll go for Train or flights.
