What plane, train...tickets, travel equipment... have you bought for 2012? What will you buy that you didn't yet buy, or what do you hope you will get to buy?
I bought a plane ticket to Dublin, Ireland for Febuary and a ticket to Tel Aviv, Israel for October.
I have loose plans to buy plane tickets to Turkey and Cryprus, but havent bought them yet. I will be sensible and chec how much time and money I have for the comming year, before buying more tickets. Sometimes I am sensible enough to save up and plan before I buy things, instead of stressing out with trying to get the time and money later. And, possibly I will buy another ticket to Dublin for maybe next December. I love Christmas time in Dublin.
Reply to this We have a couple of trips in mind for next year and this posting has prompted me to start thinking about purchasing the tickets.
Mell, thanks for the nudge.
Reply to this ohhh...there are some big sales on here at the moment and i soooo want to spend. But we have two trips already lined up (planes and hotels purchased) and although i want to go to dubai in aug/sept my hubbie is not convinced and would prefer Hong Kong. Although i've just heard on the cricket today that the world cup is in sri lanka in sept so that might be an easier sell 😊
So...no tickets for me just yet till we decide on a location....
Reply to this Ok---- thanks Mell---- for starting this thread.
--------- We have been prompted to have serious conversations about next year's travel and we are much closer to purchasing those airline tickets. We will keep everyone posted and can't wait.
Reply to this I've just booked flights to Singapore, Indonesia (Bali) and Thailand as I intend to take a seriously long break from teaching and have an extended and well deserved rest.
Things get quite crazy here during the Tet holiday so it will be nice to get away from the chaos of it all.
Reply to this Just bought my third trip for next year... Exmouth/Coral Bay to swim with the whale sharks at Ningaloo reef. Its not till June next year but it will be nice to go North and get some warmth 😊
Reply to this We bought tickets for Spain this summer, first to Majorca, to go to my godson's wedding and, hopefully do some diving as well; and then to Galicia, to see my family and spend some time with my niece (who will be born in April)
Reply to this I bought a plane ticket - London - Turin for a weekend skiing. Cannot go any more and British Airways will not allow a name change or a refund!!!!!
Very annoyed as nothing else on the horizon, and with over 2 weeks notice I thought they would be more accommodating!
Reply to this Airlines have too many rules and regulations that don't benefit the customer. I often feel at their mercy.
Will they allow you to reschedule the flight for later in the year? That would allow them to keep your money. I'd pick a weekend later in the year in hopes that you could go. It might be better than not having anything.
Good luck.
Reply to this We leave for Asia next week, so bought the tickets months ago. Fares have increased 100 per cent since we bought. (Atlanta to Saigon, Tokyo to Atlanta 3/5 months later). We'll be taking trains, planes and automobiles throughout Asia. Last night, we bought tickets to Madrid for next September.
Even better -- we just bought a plane!
Best recent gear purchases: an unlocked iPhone and PacSafe day packs.
Reply to this Just back from my adventure and have to say that the waterproof/shockproof camera was one of my best purchases for this trip. I had my regular one for nice days, but on rainy days, or for boat rides under waterfall, I was able to keep snapping pictures. Was amazing to see what I missed while my eyes were closed in all the water.
