Honeymoon, December, 2011, 5 to 7 days. Preferably in mountains, budget 2500 USD for 2 persons including air fare.
I'm from India.
I want to plan my honeymoon trip of 5 to 7 days in December, 2011, outside India.
For filter options, I prefer mountains over seashore, and romantic places over busy cities.
My budget will be around 2500 USD for 5 to 7 days for a couple (including air fare).
I checked Patagonia, but it has too expensive travel cost from India.
Is there any recommendation in your mind?
Any agencies who can help me planning this?
Reply to this Hello Arpan and welcome to the Forum!
Given that your budget is going to include airfares for two people, you are likely to be restricted to the Oceania or European area at the furtherest. You should be able to get two airfares to a place like Switzerland for under $1600 from India (I found a few on the web), which would then allow you quite a bit of money to stay in or around the Berner (or Bernese) Oberland. The mountain scenery there is stunning - especially around Interlarken (including Lauterbrunnen and my favourite Grindewald).
You should be able to book this on the web directly with the airlines involved, and then try a few hotel review websites for opinions on the best accommodation and compare prices on the web with different sites. The biggest hassle you will have is grabbing a visa before you arrive.
Reply to this Well if after mountains I think Nepal may be an option 😊 Think there are some around that area 😊 But outside the India and Nepal region with mountains, other Asian destinations will be the cheapest.. Singapore, Thailand are around $300 USD return (I found on skyscanner with a quick search). Where in India do you wish to fly from?
From Delhi to Switzerland you can get for $836 USD return on the 2nd to the 8th flying with KLM...
For a romantic place, maybe Paris? From Delhi to Paris $790 USD return on the 3rd to the 8th..
These are quick searches and I find skyscanner a good starting point and then once you find a place you wish to go to use other search engines to find other deals also..
Good luck 😊
Chris
Reply to this Thanks for the replies.
Can you please tell me should I book through any travel agencies for the swiss trip? or directly book the hotels and other things?
Please give me some pointers for either of them.
Reply to this The prices will vary greatly - sometimes it is cheaper to book with hotels directly, sometimes though third-party websites, and sometimes with a travel agent. It is difficult to say which is best as it will vary.
I'd recommend trying a few options and made a comparison between the prices. My preference for flights is to book directly with airlines, and with hotels is either directly with hotels or via third-party websites. I almost never use travel agents.
