How long after you get home do you start planning your next adventure?

It used to be a few months. Then a few weeks. Then, at customs coming back home. Now, we have a list of new places while we are already on a trip! It seems like with every new trip we take, my fiance and I are quicker and quicker to start dreaming about being back on the road. It seems our list of places to visit grows twice as fast as the list of places we've been!

How long does it take everyone here to start thinking about their next adventure? Do you pine for the comfort of hotel rooms, internet cafes and guide book recommendations? Or are you so glad to be back home in your own bed and local pub you feel you never want to leave again! Reply to this

Much like u we used to book our next trip a few weeks after we got back but now we try to have at least two trips booked at any time so when we're on our way home we know that we've already got something to look forward to.

We got back from Sweden a couple of weeks ago & before we went we already had a trip to Dubai booked for April, Paris & Reims booked for may & a mini tour of Italy booked for July. Reply to this

I've recently returned from a spur of the moment holiday from Koh Chang, but now I'm looking to go one step further and really explore Thailand!

Travelling is quite new to me, and obviously it's going to be more expensive than booking a holiday from a big company like <snip>, so does anyone have any money saving tips for my travels? And where should be my first location??

I also generally have three or four "destinations" booked per year and book air tickets to the next destination on the list as soon as I complete one trip when cheap fairs are available..the booking connecting flights, accom, dives etc part is the bit that ive found myself leaving to the last minute lately. Im not planning on stopping travelling any time soon though, I have planned trips til 2020 and after that im sure there will be more. Sometimes I also do a spur of the minute quick dive trip somewhere with a day or few hours notice. Reply to this

We generally have at least two trips planned. Our motto has been to have the next trip planned before we leave on this trip. As Chris pointed out it is good to have something to look forward to.

The only time that was not true was when we returned from our ten month trip around the world. We were content to sit still for about four months. Then we got restless again. We are similar to Cindy in that we have a rough outline where we want to go over the next five years.

The around the world trip changed us in that now we wing it more than we used to. It is in our nature to plan and we are grateful that we have learned not to.

I want to travel as often as I can. I've had year breaks in between each time I've gone on a trip, but I've gone for long periods of time. I took 4 months off to travel between Asia and Europe, and now I'm planning a 2-3 month trip across the USA, and Europe again. It will be a year's time since I've hit the road. Reply to this

we usually have at least two big trips planned per year and then we think where to go in between as well ;-) think of planning all the time though - I guess that is the beauty of our addiction ;-) It makes us happy to even think of travelling. Reply to this
