I love experiencing different cultures and seeing different places, but since my husband and I went to Rio we almost don't go anywhere else.
The people, the color, the music, the fruits, all the nature, the beaches only a few miles from the biggest urban forest in the world... everything in Rio de Janeiro makes you fall in love with it. We don't want another life! We spent three months in Rio this year and will be back there soon for another two months.
We recommend Rio to anyone who wants to experience life. Tourists feel at home as cariocas (Rio's inhabitants) love anyone who speaks another language. I guess they just love anyone in general.
If you are planning on going to Rio New Year is a great time to go. The party is almost as big as carnival and has the biggest fireworks display we've seen in our lives. When in Rio don't forget to visit Santa Teresa, take the tram up there if you can and eat in one its delicious restaurants. Lapa has the best night in Rio, hundreds of people on the streets having fun until the sun is shinning.
Of course, we can’t forget the beach, there hundrends of beaches in Rio, if you have time go to Buzios, Arraial do Cabo, Ilha Grande or Paraty. If you don’t have too much time
Ipanema beach is the paradise on earth!
