Can we bring our own sandwiches and juices on the flight?

Can we bring our own sandwiches and juices on the flight? Because many times we will be served with the usual peanuts and cup of juice, or on long-haul flights, and could wait a long time for that food cart to reach us. Reply to this

Yes in general you can, and it is a great idea. but some low cost airlines will not allow it. Example Air Asia in Asia. don't think it is a bad idea as some of the hot asian food can be really smelly and a disconfort for others.

You cannot open your own bottle of wine on most flights. It could attract you serious problems. But interesting enough, 2 airlines that are called "dry" will let you open you own wine. Egypt Air and Royal Brunei will not serve any alcool on their flights, but will let you have you own wine.

In these days, bring your own food can actually mean a much more healthy choice. Reply to this

Hello Susan 😊

Yes, you can. But, you would need to buy the juice and other drinks in the departure longue, because the security checkers wont let you take them into the departure longue from outside.

Susan----don't know where you are departing from therefore can't answer your question fully. In the US the food and drink you purchase AFTER GOING THROUGH SECURITY can be taken aboard. Prior to security the " 3oz liquid rule" applies thus no bottled or canned drinks should be purchased until after security check. Leave the wine at home as it will not go through security and wait until you get to your destination. Reply to this

You mean we can't purchase it outside the airport perimeter? Or say, an at-home snacks?

The new rules are pretty simple. you cannot take onboard anything liquidi/gel above 100ml which need to be able to contain in a transpart plastic bag of maximum one litter.

As bill explain clearly in the post above, 3oz is 100ml. So if you want to take your prefered soda with you, you can...it just have to be contained in a 100ml or less container...not really worth the hassle.

So for food, you'll be safe for most things, but drinks still need to be purchased after security. Reply to this

As far as I know, most snacks can be brought in from outside, if they are not in liquid form. Drinks would need to be bought inside the departure lounge, after you go through the security checks.
