Travelblog Social Event in Brisbane, Australia
Advertisement
A rare event - two Moderators in the same place at the same time - if you have a love for travel, please come along!
B Posts: 5,611
It just so happens that Jo Trouble and The Travel Camel will both be in Brisbane on Saturday 13 February 2010, and you are welcome to come along!
The social event will be at Southbank - Brisbane's playground - and one of the best places in Australia to meet for a relaxing afternoon or evening.
This get together is the day before Valentine's Day - a time where people normally profess their love for another person. So it is appropriate that the day before we give those who share a love of travel an opportunity to meet, mingle and share stories.
If you are interested in attending, please post here or send me a Private Message. Reply to this

Jo, have you told Shane how many caramel slices you will be needing, so he can get cracking with making them? ;) Reply to this

I'm jealous! Did you convince Ali to have a flight down on AirasiaX....sadly i already know the answer.
Most important, Happy Birthday Jo! I know, reaching 21 is not easy every year! Hope you've got a great party today...and a great one with Shane!
There is another moderator meeting north next week...from there we should settle more of them...We will post more details about those soon.
Sorry, we won't be able to join you in Brisbane. Won't be in Bankok on 13th...but in a "Valentine's Paradise".
Have a lot of fun...and hope to meet both of you very soon....we should really work on a long KL week-end one day!

Have a great time :)
Coincidently - finally met Kate and Kris - Rat on the Road - in KL on Monday. Does that count as three moderators in one place? Reply to this

Is there a photo of the meeting, for the TravelBlog Album?

I classify Bob and Vikki (Occasionally Bob )as 2 of them, because I want not being able to count the number of TravelBlog folks I have more than a virtual relationship with, on the fingers of one hand happen sooner. My travel buddies that I have met here and there all congregate around Facebook. If I could get them to join TravelBlog, I could also get past the fingers on the first hand sooner.

Dont you mean that Ali should meet up with as many of us as possible for a weekend, rather than get with us for a weekend? ;)

I'll be in KL for a night and day in late June, but not a weekend, so might be able to meet Ali then.

Well this all reads like a very exclusive gang but it would be fantastic to actually meet some of you guys! I won't be around for that event but I get into Cairns on the 18th and will be travelling the east coast for 6 weeks or so. Will any of you still be in Oz and moving around? Or are you so jet set that you can fly in just for a gathering!!!?? Reply to this

Hello Daniel, sorry that we will miss you by a day - enjoy your trip to Asia!
Cheryl, I live in Brisbane, so am always here (unless I'm travelling which won't be until June). Jo is from across 'the ditch' in New Zealand, so not sure of her movements. Let me know by either posting here and/or sending a private message when you'll be in Brisbane, and it should be easy to organise another one for late February or early March.
Daniel, if you happen to be back in Brisbane then, please join the gathering as well.

Re # 3 - Thanks Peter
Re #4 - It's now 'yesterday' where I am - but yes, it was.
Re # 5 - Will do
. Yes, it can count - as long as we can backdate Mod status for this - then I can claim the same from the first TB Auckland xmas party

Re #10 - Pity.
Re #11 - Leaving Brisbane 21st Feb > Auck.
Re #13 - Let me know your dates, and I'll try and round a few other TBers up. There's a TB Whangarei plan brewing, but no dates definite yet.

Well this all reads like a very exclusive gang ...
Not exclusive at all! All TravelBlog members are more than welcome to join the get togethers. In fact, the more the merrier. :) Reply to this

Mall, sorry I should have said something more like ''this all sounds like a very friendly, well acquainted gang''!!
Jo, that would be cool, I'll let you know more of my plans when I know them! At the moment I only have a date for landing in the country and a desire to jump off the Queenstown bridge and get out trekking ... not worked out the rest of it! Reply to this

Hi Jo
!
We're planning a self-drive trip to NZ in September. This social event taking place in Brisbane will be the great time to meet you and Shane, and pick your brain about your beautiful country
.
The only problem is my weekends are already booked out. So I'm not really much of a social butterfly as my time revolves around family and work.
But I'll try to make it Friday after work. Southbank Parkland is only few blocks away from our office building.
Let me know if you guys are available Friday (12 Feb).
cheers,
Johanna
