Have you radically changed your lifestyle? or did you find it hard coming back?

This is one thing i think many people forget about when returning and sometimes it hits some alot harder than others..

It'd be nice to hear what you did when you came back..and how long you were gone for! 😊 x Reply to this

I've only ever been on 3 week adventures and the big thing for me is exercise. I eat like a king when im on holiday and eat almost like a pauper when at home. I always stack on the weight and having only been to the US of A and Canada where meals seem to be double of what i get here in Australia, i have to look at removing all my extra luggage. Hello Abi 😊

I think travel has indeed radically changed the way I live and think. It still is changing it. I think most of the changes have happened so gradually that I dont even register them consiously, until I give them some thought or until somebody asks.

I used to feel restless when I came home from trips, but now after 20 years of on and off travel, I actully enjoy being at home too.

One thing that changed very radically is how I think about money, and how much of it I feel I need.

And there is the path in life that I took because of travel. I live quite a checkered life, which I dont think I would without the influence of travel.

Also, there is the feeling that everything is ordinary someplace. I often think that, when looking at some ridiculously priced exotic fruit in the supermarket, and remembering a tree full of them outside my room in some far away country, and just picking one whenever I felt like it.

checkmyspeedo, i know what you mean..but mine is kinda the opposite lol. When im at home im lucky enough to have my mum cook lovely homemade meals, however when im away i tend to only eat when im hungry and thats not generally that often also money is always a big factor.

I guess it was a bigger deal when i went Camping across Norway, everything was sooo expensive, to eat out for 2 people, (who shared a pizza and had 1 drink each) even in small cafes came to over £30, which when i lived with my partner was our weekly budget for shopping! :O so we ended up just buying food from supermarkets but because we were camping we were so limited to what we could eat and what would keep in the heat. We pretty much ended up living on horrid sweet white bread and plain crisps. occasionally pasta and cheese but all very bland and un exciting, by the time i came home i couldnt wait to taste proper food again! ^_^

I know what you mean by the portion size in the US, its insane! and so cheap for what you get!:O very difficult to find a healthy balanced meal though i found. xx Reply to this

Well, although I have been in the same country for quite some time, after I left home for the city last year, I kinda find it difficult to go home. well, I do go for occasional visits but to stay in the same house for more than a month can be quite difficult. whenever I visit home, what I'd do is to visit all the friends and relatives. that is what I do when I travel abroad or even with in the country. I give them souvenir and gifts that I have bought while on travel. at times, when or if I have learned a new dish, I would cook or at least try to do so.. Reply to this
