Need help with stuff to do.
My friends and I aer taking a road trip west. One of our stop is San Francisco and we need ideas. We hav e a very limited budget, only about 2 days and want something unique and fun. Any suggestions.
Also, we will be travelling through yellowstone, Seattle, Las Vegas and possibly Denver.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Reply to this I have travel sites that you could check out: citysights.us and also lasvegasfortourists.com. CitySights has some stuff on San Francisco and the west, and I talk about the Route 1 along the coast, which is really a must -- it is beautiful!!! You could stop off at Big Sur.
Also I talk about the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, which I hope you will do, from LV! BTW, some of those buffets at LV hotels are very inexpensive e.g. at the Mirage.
You can also post on my blog! http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/Foodie/
Good luck! It should be a great trip!
Reply to this I live in San Francisco so here's my suggestions: you can rent bikes in North Beach and bike to Golden Gate Bridge (through Chrissy Field) or if your ambitious take them to Saulsilito and eat at Sam's outside and have a drink and then take the Ferry back. The Ferry building is cool to check out and you can eat at Taylor's Refresher for some great inexpensive food. The drive throught the Presidio is nice. If you have a car drive across the bridge (GG) and go to Marin Headlands and go for a hike (great views). If you have time to go to Napa, a day trip is always fun to go wine tasting. If you haven't been to Alcatraz, book ahead online and go there (I hear they have a good audioguide tour). Golden Gate Park is good to walk around. If you have a car I would stay in the Marina area off of Lombard (make sure your room is NOT on Lombard because it could be loud). Go to www.bayareacitysearch.com and look to see if there are any street festivals going on the days you are there (they're on the weekends and they close of the street in a district and have arts, crafts, food and drink). If there is a Giant's game and you're into baseball, it's a great stadium. You can get tickets on the street close to the park. Take a cable car ride on California street (less crowded than the other ones and you get the same effect).
Good luck!
