i'm thinking about heading to NZ/Australia in late May to early June. i like to surf and snow ski, and i've been told i can do both. anyone visited that time of year? is it worth going? i'm finishing up school and would like to go before my job begins (and my life ends...).

Australia is a big country, and it depends on where you want to go, but to answer your question, yes you can do both around that time of the year, it just meanst that you will have to do a bit of travelling. NZ is the best place to ski, and you can get airfares from Sydney or Brisbane to Christchurch or even Queenstown for about $300-$400 AUD return. The surfing you can go anywhere you like up the east coast, until you get to the Capricorn in QLD, where the surf stops. The water wil be cool down south, but still quite nice around the Sunshine coast, just north of Brisbane. In June you can ski down on the southern highlands of Australia, but like I said, you are better off getting a cheap airfare and flying to NZ. Hope that helps.

I think it is a fabulous time! Weather is never 'too' bad in New Zealand that time of year. Expect more clouds, some rain and snow in the mtns! its also the low season so some things are a bit cheaper.
