Did you do something special, or was it just another day?| 22 Replies: « back 1 2 next » | Jo Trouble Jo McCarthy Post Count: 3145 Msg: #1 66 weeks ago, September 12th 2008 | I've spent my last few birthdays in Japan - birthdays, along with Christmas, are the times that I do miss family and friends back home a little more than usual. | Last birthday (Jan) all my friends were working but I had the day off, so after feeling down about it all the day before, I headed out snowboarding for the day. Being a weekday there were hardly any others out - probably more staff than customers! What ways have you been able to celebrate because you've been in a foreign country at the time? happy happy Post Count: 5 Msg: #2 66 weeks ago, September 12th 2008 | last birthday........was floating in the dead sea in jordan....;-)!! with about 11 new friends that I met during the trip from Egypt to Jordan!! Was an amazing experience ;-)!!!! have been living in dubai for over a year and when you live in the centre of the world you just use every opportunity to explore other countries....;-)!! | JJfromNJ Justin Post Count: 41 Msg: #3 66 weeks ago, September 13th 2008 | Last year, I went to Stamford Bridge for a Chelsea/Schalke Champions League match. This year, I'll be either in Thailand or Laos. I want to be abroad for at least my next five birthdays. | EdVallance Edward Adrian-Vallance Post Count: 67 Msg: #4 66 weeks ago, September 15th 2008 | A week ago I spent my 25th in a jungle village on a remote island in Vanuatu drinking something called kava. It looks like muddy water and it's made by mashing up the roots of a certain plant then adding water. It's not alcoholic but it's definitely got something in it because after 8 coconut shells of it you can barely stand! | Mell Mell Post Count: 14869 Msg: #5 66 weeks ago, September 15th 2008 | We(me, my boyfriend and daughter) usually do something special for our birhdays. Sometimes we go someplace. | For my last birthday we went to Regensburg, Germany. We sat by the river and walked around the town having snacks, icecream and coffee. regmac macky molina Post Count: 1 Msg: #6 66 weeks ago, September 16th 2008 | Mine was so boring. Though I originally had plans to travel for excitement but I wasn't able to have it done since I was not able to anticipate the shortage until the very special day. | Though ice cream and other yummy stuffs were present but still not enough to make the thing worth remembering. Anyway, it's once upon a time. We are off to the zoo here in Munich when my daughter gets home from school. Then afterwards a restaurant in the centre of Munich and a walk around the old town with some icecreams. | Ellen Around the World Ellen Post Count: 102 Msg: #9 65 weeks ago, September 21st 2008 | Taganga, Columbia! I did two dives in the morning and got nitrogen narcosis on my deep dive. Sunset drinks on a hotel rooftop, danced up a storm at the local club, stopped off on the way home at a private party and walked home just as the sun was rising the following day ... unforgettable!! | His Dudeness Ralf Kreuze Post Count: 140 Msg: #10 65 weeks ago, September 25th 2008 | My last birthday I think I was, or just in a clinic, or just about to go in... Either way it was boring... | A License To Wander Jane Doe Post Count: 47 Msg: #11 64 weeks ago, September 26th 2008 | I was in San Fransisco for my cousin's wedding. I have a lot of relatives, only a few of which live in California, so we rented a huge house and all stayed in it together. To escape for a breather, I walked from the Golden Gate Bridge to downtown Toyko and back again for a day adventure. Truly one of my more favorite cities to visit. When I got home my aunts had bought a huge chocolate cake and I blushed as they all sang to me in the dining room. Good family is an amazing gift. | Vinovat Sudarynya Jonathan Campion Post Count: 744 Msg: #12 64 weeks ago, September 30th 2008 | My International Friendship Shorts. is about how I spent my birthday; it's one that I'll remember for a long time. | RamblyRuss Rusty Nye Post Count: 9 Msg: #13 64 weeks ago, September 30th 2008 | My last birthday, I was in Guatemala solo traveling, I was in antigua and didn't want to spend it making new friends so I went down to the coast, monterrico. It was a week day so the entire town was dead, no one anywhere to be seen on the black sand beaches. I stayed at a small beach hostel, the only other person in the dorm was a guy from quebec. I started to get a little bored and was wishing I hadn't left my new friends in antigua. I stayed up staring at the stars and went to bed early. In the morning I talked to my quebeceqois roommate, whom I discovered was in Monterrico doing the exact same thing I was doing, it was his birthday too! What are the chances, in a tiny town with virtually no tourists that the only two travelers in a dorm were both celebrating their birthdays? Any other travelers share my b day, Feb 11? | around_the_world Laetitia Lair Post Count: 114 Msg: #14 63 weeks ago, October 4th 2008 | Few weeks ago, in Shanghai surounded by friends!! Great cocktail at Mesa followed by a very long night in Bar Rouge! add to that a pre and post birthday celebrations and you end up with a three days long birthday celebration! I visited a Silk Embroidery Factory, a Taekwondo School, and finally the Mangyongdae Children's Palace - where I witnessed an amazing concert performed by the children who sang, danced and played musical instruments. | Mell Mell Post Count: 14869 Msg: #20 13 weeks ago, September 21st 2009 | Awesome, this post is still going.![]() Yeah, you can post on it every year, what you did for your birthday. :) 22 Replies: « back 1 2 next » | Number of Users: 15 | Number of Posts: 22 22 Replies: « back 1 2 next » | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
