apres notre journnee de repos a Parati, nous repartons direction le sud ! Nous visons la ville d'Ubatuba situee a 80km, les paysages sont vraiment magique; la mer la montagne et les petits villages de pecheurs. En plus la route change d'aspect, nous avons beaucoup plus de collines a grimper; nous nous arretons donc un peu plus en amont d'Ubatuba sur la plage de d'Itamanbuca :Un petit camping dans la foret. Pour rejoindre la plage du camping nous devons traverser une riviere avec un petit bateau, ce qui est tres simpa. En arrivant sur le plage, en fin d'apres midi nous sommes surpris de tomber sur une competition de surf qui se deroule sur plusieurs jours : beau surfeurs, et, petit voir tres petits bikinis dans corps de reves, nous sommes ravis, tous les 2 ! ... read more

Here we are at Guaruja almost the end of the Rio- Sao Paulo coastal road. We have been spoilt on this first stage of our trip, all the better to help us get used to things. The weather has been sunny almost everyday, 25 to 30 degrees with a light breeze, ideal for cycling and lazing on the beach. There have been lots of places to stay, either possadas or campsites, we passed through pleasant, small towns where we could find everything we needed, the road had a hard shoulder where we could cycle peacefully and all the towns had networks of cycle lanes (better than the UK). The food has been great and the people very friendly and helpful. If only it could be like that all over South America! One great thing about cycling ... read more

After one month away from the beach I thought it was about time that I took Tom back to his natural habitat! So we packed up and set off for a weekend of sun and sand. We didn´t know exactly where we were going, so we decided to take the most direct route to the beach and than head south, untill we found somewhere that we liked. We drove our way down through the mountains and caught our first glimpse of the ocean 4 hours after leaving home. We drove past many little coastal towns which, although very beautiful, were a bit sleepy for our liking, due to it being the middle of winter.
