I'm down to my last few days here. Time sure has gone by fast! Yesterday we did some shopping downtown. I picked up a few touristy items. I can't take too much back cause my suitcases are borderline too heavy as it is. It doesn't really matter cause i don't like shopping here. They follow you around the store and it's really uncomfortable. We had a few VERY close calls in the taxi home. It's amazing there aren't accidents everywhere. I think that there are more pedestrians hit than car accidents. There are only a few crosswalks here and no one obeys them. There also aren't many traffic lights which is crazy when you think that the population here is 1.2 million. It's cooled down a few degrees so i've slept a bit better the past ... read more

I'm back!! The trip was nice. A very beautiful drive. You have to drive through a few very small villages to get there, so that is always interesting. Samaipata is in the mountains, so it was much cooler there which was great. The very start of the trip i got bit by a marigui which is a fly that bites and creates a blood blister. Of course i had a reaction to it and the bite is right on my elbow, so it still hurts to bend my arm. It itches like crazy! We stayed at a place called "Finca La Vispera" It's a small place with a few cabins, a place to camp and an organic farm. It was really pretty and smelled great from all the flowers and herbs. There were some awesome hummingbirds..not like ... read more

The hotel was amazing!! First off...the place is huge. I couldn't get over our room. When you first walk in there is a living room and dining room..kitchen with everything in it..even a small room for a maid. There were 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. I had the room with the kingsize bed..yay!! Cable TV with English channels..oh i was in heaven. I swear everyone staying at the place was goodlooking. This is where all the guys have been hiding cause i sure haven't seen one goodlooking guy since i've been here! A little off topic, but there are so many gorgeous women and no guys to match! But..alot of the women here dress like..umm..what we would call an escort or high class hooker. It's really something else and it's so hard not to stare. So, ... read more

All i can say is...my poor stomach!! I actually felt pretty good when i woke up. I was thinking finally i'm feeling better..that was the case until i ate pollo picante(spicy chicken) for lunch. Ohhhhh.. i have had to stay close to the bathroom all afternoon. This morning Cindy and I went to the Feria(market). I wrote about it before..one of the many places that smell like pee. Anyway, it's very crowded, hot and you have to hold on to your purse. It's just a tad uncomfortable. I can handle most of it..but what really bothers me is all the beggars. The ones who are crippled i feel very sorry for..it's horrible...but then there are women that just hold out there hand or come up and just ask for money. Ugh, go away! Soo..my plans for ... read more

I am sweating like crazy at the moment. It's really hot and windy. Cindy and i went for a walk today and the dust kept blowing in our faces. It's like your whole body is covered in a thin layer of dust. Everything inside as well. My cold is much better today, wish i could say the same for my stomach. We went downtown today and i'm sure i will have a nightmare about this. A freaking little bolivian midget jumped at me and said ' Mama' OMG..let me tell you it was traumatizing. She was older and i really didn't want to walk by her...so when she did that my heart was pounding. I kept looking behind me to make sure she wasn't following me. Scary and funny at the same time. Did i mention ... read more

Wow..crazy road trip. Lets start off with the bridge. They have a bridge on the way out of town. It's a one way and a train also uses it..so we had to wait in line. Not that a person could get bored! They have probably 2 dozen shacks set up selling all sorts of things. They also come up to your window and sell bags of oranges, coffee, cunapes(which are these little buns made with yucca flour and cheese). So really you don't get a moments peace. The first town (San Ramon)we stop in is very small but filled with people. We decide to go for lunch and look for a half decent restaurant(i think there were only three in the whole town) So we order...now at these small restaurants you only usually have a choice ... read more

It's early morning and we are getting ready for a road trip to a teeny town called Conception. We are staying for the night. I think it's about a three hour drive and i'm hoping to stomach will be ok. Everyday it's been bothering me. Thursday i was with the kindergarten kids at the daycare. It was fun. Helped them with colors and numbers. It was funny...on little boy kept correcting me on the way i said color in spanish. Got lots of hugs and snot wiped on my shirt. Don't know if i've mentioned how bad some of the kids teeth are. I can't imagine how painful it must be. Some are totally rotten. Yesterday i did nothing at all. We went out for dinner which was great. You know, it's normal here for people ... read more

At this moment i am trying to decide whether i should wear my usual hoodie to bed or risk getting bit my mosquitos even more than usual. It's really hot tonight...or i'm running a fever i can't tell. Anyway, i'm sweating and uncomfortable. Today just plain sucked..but ended well. I don't even want to go into details, but i was miserable and no one likes a miserable Angie! I tried to keep to myself so no one else would have to put up with me. As i was staring at the wall wondering what i was going to do for the rest of the night while my aunt and uncle had bible study..a couple of the girls that volunteer invited me out. Instead of being my usual anti social self..i went along. Well..i have been avoiding ... read more
