Looking to Mitigate Situations while in Bolivia

I am looking to find out others experiences on what they have encountered while in La Paz and the Altiplano.

Hi all,

I am new to the forum. I am trying to determine situations to mitigate (i.e. what I need to know so I have no surprises during my trip) situation for my extended trip to Bolivia. I will be flying into La Paz and will be there for a few days then I will be heading into the Altiplano for a few weeks. I would like to know what things have happened to other travelers to the area in an effort to be prepared for similar situations.

Prepare to be a foot taller than the locals...

Bolivia struck me as a very safe country so long as you take the usual precautions. The most annoying things we encountered were road blocks that first delayed our departure from Copacabana and then stopped us from getting to Uyuni when we had planned! Reply to this
