I got into Fiji at 6 am local, it's now 8:47. It was nice to see the sun rise over the mountains in Fiji, I took some pictures. I once again tried contacting my parents, but I needed a special phone card to use the phones here. So, I bought a connection to their wifi. I reached the data cap just by turning my iPad on and my apps updating. So, they think I'm dead probably. I don't think I'm ever allowed to travel again. Other than the Scottish, I've never seen so many men wearing skirts, but these pacific islanders seem to like them. Fiji. My home away from home. Ok so my first trip there last year i was there a whole of 6 nights. But that is all it took for me to fall in love. I fell in love with the culture, the beautiful blue waters and greenery, and most of all, the people. I have been to Samoa once before and as much as i loved it, it didn't leave such an impact. I remember boarding the flight back to Australia with my two friends. As much as they loved their holiday, all they could talk about was how excited they were to get back home. We are picked up by our boat transfer to take us to coral view, we have an hour and a half to our destination. So we watch castaway, as we are watching it we drive last where it was filmed! Pretty cool. A small speedboat pulls up beside the boat and we jump into it with our luggage which will take us to our island. We are again greeted by the family who run this resort. We are taken to our lodge where we are staying. We stop outside Deluxe 4, we definitely didn't book this one as it was too expensive but we kept quiet and walked in. Saturday 11 August, 9,30am, Yasawa Flyer heading north to Octopus Resort. So, since I arrived in Fiji 17 days ago I've discovered that the answer to the age old equation 'the square root of fuck all'...it's Fiji Time, baby! Meeting people here has been a totally different experience from hosteling in the states..In the US it was mainly groups of friends sticking together which was difficult to get talking to them. Looking back I was probably a bit overwhelmed having spent time with friends in Miami and NYC so once Cockney and Chrissy's wedding was over it dawned on me that it as just me, myself and I. Le fijis comportent plus de 200 iles dont les principales sont "Viti Levu" et "Vanua Levu". Nandi se situe sur "Viti Levu" ainsi que la capitale Suva. Nous avons donc profité de notre séjour à Nandi pour faire une excursion jusqu'à la capitale : plus de 6 heures de trajet aller/retour en taxi sans compter les arrêts !
