packed up a BBQ then Lew Lee Molly and me headed for Moore river. Moore river is gorgeous! there's a river estuary then a line of sand, then the sea - the river doesnt actualy meet the sea, its beautiful we wnet in the river cos its safer than the sea - no sharks or sting rays or waves lol was realy windy down there though - we hired a "tinny" which is a little metal "speed" boat to drive down the river in, took the body board with us - tied it onto the back of the boat and stood/kneeled/clung onto it - its realy hard cos your not goin very fast so it sinks! on our way back as we went past another group of teenagers in a tinny their motor fell off the ... read more

went to Yanchep beach today it has a coral about 10m out it was quite windy and rough though, uncle fred said there are sting rays in the lagoon when the waters calm. went to the pub after - the Indian Ocean pub in Mindari Keys realy nice in there - bit of a rich man's/familys pub the BEST chips in the world! we met Lucas and his gf sarah there, she was nice (reminded me slightly of Helen (heddie) lol ) then we went to the pub next door - the boat (more like a wetherspoons) met a few more of Lew's friends. then on the way home we went to a thirsty camel a DRIVE THROUGH OFFLICENCE!!! how cool is that! its literaly like driving into a shop, you wind down you window, tell ... read more

woke up about 12am went to the beach will Lew Molly and Lee, was lovely - white sands, i napped on the beach, went into the sea wasnt too cold but there was a realy strong current - we tried to swim against it but didnt actualy move anywhere. when we got back Aunty Marion took me for a drive to uncle fred's golf course to see my 1st kangaroos! was very exited but then we saw road kill - kangaroo minus the head so my 1st kangaroo was dead, never mind - the live ones were pretty cool, they look realy odd though seems like effort to jump everywhere! they're realt stupid too they just hop infront of cars and jump around on the golf course in the way of everyone. Lew's accent is so ... read more

Hi all, a quick update on how our stay in Perth is going..... We arrived on time into Perth's domestic airport where we were met by Stephanie's Aunty Anne. Our first stop was at the indoor football arena in Joondalup to watch the twins play. We headed back to the house for some dinner on the patio and a quick game of soccer in the garden with the boys. On saturday morning we were driven towards the city to Kings Park. This huge expanse of green grass has some amazing views across the city and after having a walk around we stopped for a picnic lunch under the shade of a big tree. We then drove back to Kingsley and went to Hillary's Boat Harbour to meet Anne and the boys who had been at soccer ... read more

It's been nearly 3 months since my last blog but we have been so busy and so much has happened. After getting back from the UK we both had the worse homesickness and we found it so hard to sink back into life out here in Oz away from all our family and friends. It didn't help that we were only home for such a short time and never got to do hardly any of the stuff we wanted to do. When we left the UK the weather all week had been really nice and sunny day and immedately after getting back to Perth we had about 4 weeks of constant grey skies and rain. So we couldn't get down to the beach as much as normal so found ourselves really down in the dumps. The ... read more

We arrived at the 2nd caravan park of our trip yesterday...Quinns Rocks. It is right on the beach and last night there was an awesome thunder storm some where out to sea which was wicked to watch. We sat on the beach trying unsuccessfully to catch a bolt of lightning on camera for you :) The storm hit our camp as we were waking up this morning which was hilarious until we watched the 2 front tent poles fly into the camper van hehe all good, no damage. Today we ventured the short distance to Barbagallo raceway to watch qualifying. Thankfully Frosty was on the money as Whincup was no where to be seen and Tander and Skaife way to close for comfort. We shall see what happens in race 1 in about an hours time. ... read more

Day 1 started out great, after arriving in Perth, we were left stranded in the car park waiting for someone to help us with our hire car. eventually our car arrived minus the GPS which they had to run and grab, we left the airport 2 hours after we landed. Our first night was spent in a cabin at Karrinyup Waters resort, went out and bought an oven bake pizza to find out our cabin doesnt have an oven. delivered Pizza it was for night 1. Today has been some what hilarious but we have had to choose our laughing moments carefully...we have been taking turns in being irate! Mainly related to driving around Perth in circles, trying to buy our tv, tent, extra cooking facilities, etc. Anyway, we got there and are happily watching Neighbours ... read more

We have now been out here for nearly 6 months and time has flown. At last Dougie has bought himself a motorbike after months of buying auto traders and going through reviews of bikes etc (I am sick of hearing about bikes!!!) Even though it is a lovely one!! He has always had bikes since he was young and has always wanted to ride one in Australia so in a way is fulfilling his dreams! The roads out here are really bad and the traffic is a nightmare especially on the way to work as most mornings for a large portion of my travel to work down the highway never really get out the car out of second gear .. oh yes I insisted on a manual car .. can't be doing with automatic ones :0) ... read more

Well this is my first lunchtime blog, but only because I want to get it done, as i have plenty of other things to be doing, and this of course is because today i leave Western Australia to head East to Cairns. I haven't blogged since my Pinnacles trip and this is largely because there has been nothing to shout about really, so decided I would save a couple of days up for today! Having had such a long day on Thursday, i had a reasonable sleep Thursday night, though as the boys had broken up from school, i didnt get as much of a lie in as i had hoped! I spent the morning by the pool, enjoying the ever sunny weather and writing a few post cards. At about 12, I had a couple ... read more

This blog will not be too long, since it is more of a what i did the last two days, as opposed to a "haha look what you are missing out on" type blog. Yesterday I got up at 9:30 with the intention to bike and watch Sandy practice soccer ready for todays game, however it was chuking it down, though it didnt stop him and his team training! This meant Dougie and myself stayed at home and chilled out with a bit of wrestling (on tv!) and some computer games. When sandy got back, very wet, the three of us then spent some time playing with lego, and even at 22, its still quite fun. I then organised some lunch for us before we all sat down to watch the big derby game, eagles vs ... read more
