The sunrise in the West is always so early, daylight around 5am, we have been up around 6am these few days... Back in Melbourne, if I don't have morning tutorials, tennis training or work, it is impossible to see me wake before 10am... I LIKE to sleep in... Drove 200km from Geraldton to Kalbarri national park, saw our first outback gorge and river... The swim was great in the river, though a bit shallow was the river, deepest part around 1.8meters, most at 0.5 meter, so safe enough, but watch out for the currents in the middle, can be quite strong and crabs biting your toes... Showers in the outback can be a real luxury, due to the lack of fresh water, some road houses offer showers for 5 dollars, so probably a good investment, especially ... read more

Roadkill - one roo, one wallaby (neither caused by i30). i30 near misses - 2 x lizards (the third one's not going to be as lucky eh)... Leaving Cervantes to head north, through the little coastal towns of Jurien, Green Head and Leeman. Beautiful small towns, with huge sprawling houses but not a lot else, which made me think that these are either retirement places or people's summer houses. I travel past Port Denison-Dongara and Geraldton with the intention of visiting these places on the way back. You can tell things are becoming more remote from hereon in as the roads are lined with sand and desert, and where the odd, lonely house/farm is marked out, not with a metal sign, but one on a tractor tyre. Well tonights our last night here we have decided to pack up and leave early tommorow morning heded for gallina bridge tomorow or maybe further not overly sure at this stage.. laundry don masssssive long hot showers and shave sorted, spoke to a heap of the silver linings tonight and today one that spoke very quietly !!! im pretty sure scotts getting tired of me asking him to roll me smokes coz the dork rolled 2 in one for me that took 17hours for me to smoke the stupid thing i really am over the smoking and need to quit i think ......... went for a massive walk around the caravan park , went fishing earlier today caught 2 tailors ... lol... they were massive!! hahahah dont wanna burst any bubbles!!! so dam tired not use ... read more

Day 2: I warn you this will not be gramatically correct and my spelling is bloody shocking but ive come this far with out caring why start now!!! we set up our camp in bout half hour then this dickhead (me) walked straight into the bloody rope and gave myself ahead injury!!!(slight rope burn ) Last night was freezing then hot then freezing then average!!!! Woke up early left Lake Indoon coz it was boring, took advantage of the showers that were suprisingly hot for camp showers !!!! for only $10 bucks a person a night it was pretty neat here. headed toward Port gregory , needed another fuel stop going thru Grealton were averaging 460 kms a tank at this stage drove into coronation beach and some cool historical thingo for convicts and took heaps ... read more
