Today was fantastic. Danielle and I went with my mom and PJ down to the Noarlunga Fiesta. There was lots of wine tasting (which we didn't partake in), and hot boys. Danielle and I went outside once my mom and PJ started playin' the pokies. And there were the hottest guys ever. It was excellent. We went to a beer stand and told the guy we were new here and didn't know what beer was good. So he told us to try Tooeys Light and then Hahn's Light. The first tasted a bit like Kokanee, and the second like Canadian. The fiesta was really good though. It was the first time that I've felt like people actually live on this continent. lol before it all just felt like a vacation place. Afterwards, we took a drive ... read more

I'm starting to feel like myself again, finally. That was one hell of a long flight. Two full days of travelling and airports. Ugh. LAX was super busy, obviously. We stood in line for an hour so we could check in for our flight. Afterwards, we went in search for food. We decided on McDonalds, since we didn't recognize any other place. Has anyone ever heard of Pibb? Cuz I sure hadn't. Apparently its like Dr. Pepper. I had to ask someone though. I had a bit of a freakout while we were waiting to board the plane. I calmed down after a little while, and Danielle and I went to line up. In the lineup, we realized that Danielle and I weren't seated together for the flight! Nowhere close, even. That was horrible. The longest ... read more

Introduction Today's walk was a new one, for us anyway, but at an old favourite, Onkaparinga. It was Peter's choice, and because the need for serenity was high, it had to be Onkaparinga. It's like visiting the Flinders ranges, but without all the travel! For this walk we started out on George Driscoll's walk number 30 called "Got It All" but we changed it, as you will see. This walk would be suitable only for fit walkers with kids eight years and over as the rock hopping and gully climb are rather demanding. You can see other journal entries about Onkaparinga at url=http://www.travelblog.org/Australasia/Australia/South-Australia/Adelaide/Onkaparinga/blog-40664.html this link and this one too. Introduction This bushwalk was in Onkaparinga Conservation Park on the southern side of Adelaide. It is a tough walking park as the river, over millions of years, has caused the valley to have very steep sides. There is often water here, even in the height of summer, which makes for good animal and bird spotting. So this park is one to visit with older children and only with appropriate footwear. We have visited this park a few times and it ranks high on Peter's favourite parks, but this particular walk was new to us. How to get there... From South road, heading South, take the expressway as far as Honey Pot road. Using a street directory, make your way East to Penney's Hill Road, then Upper Penney's Hill Road, which terminates on Piggott Range Road. The ... read more
