We made a 2 3/4 hour walk at Anstey Hill this weekend (see map for detail). It was nice as it was a cool day to walk some of those steep sections. Plenty of birds - particulary rosellas. Some frogs croaking as well. You can see some of our other Anstey walks here .... read more

Introduction This week the hikers headed for Anstey Hill - the closest hill to our home - for their dose of serenity. The park is a recreation park (so dogs allowed and bikes in places as well). Although we have been before (see Anstey Hill), we thought we might try a different route to see what we could see. Anstey hill is located at the end of Grand Junction Road. Introduction This week it was my turn to choose the location - and I chose a bushwalk at Anstey Hill Recreation Park. We used George Driscoll's walk number 13 as a guide (page 32) as although we have visited Anstey Hill before, we had not been on these particular tracks. The park is located at the end of Grand Junction Road between North East Road and Lower North East Road. For this walk you need to go to the eastern side of the park - take LNE road and turn a sharp right on to Range Road South and pull up at gate 18. The walk is suitable for young and old.
