The alarm rang at 6am!! We were so tired. We knew the bus would come at 7am for the Brisbane tour. It was a rainy day and it was quite cold. We quickly changed into better clothes and had breakfast. We did our hair and all the girls stuff :) We still had half an hour before the bus would come. It was so cold, all we wanted to do was sleep. But on the other side, we wanted to go to Brisbane. 20 minutes later, we carried a jumper down to the lobby area and waited for the bus to come. The bus came :D It was a really big bus, it carried around 50 passengers. The bus driver was young, and we were really happy because young drivers were normally more funnier and more ... read more

London: Fly from Brisbane Airport to London. This flight is going to be SUPER DOOPER FUN as we have bought a return flight in ECONOMY class, my number one favourite! I love it how in every long economy flight there is always 1. An annoying ass crying baby that never stops, on occasion they will soil themselves and stink out the entire plane, shit yes. 2. An old person that drools on your shoulder, some times you will get the pleasure of finding a pair of false teeth on your lap, that's always fun. 3. A troll that demolishes food by the tonne and squishes you into your seat. However every now and then you will get a sexy female flight attendented that serves your "every" need. I thought i needed to specifiy the gender here ... read more

This is my first blog from the land down under. Due to the fact that activities have tended to involve sunbathing and goon consuming it has been hard to find anything worth writing about! I have travelled from Sydney to Brisbane so far stopping off along the way for a night at a surf camp, six nights in Byron Bay and two nights in Surfers Paradise. The surf lesson at the camp was great fun. I managed to catch quite a few small waves and we had a memorable walk in the heat of the day through the jungle to Byron Bay light house. The views from the Light house were breath taking. Those long stretches of white sand beaches which spring to mind when someone uses a word such as: Paradise. But other than that ... read more

Hi Everyone! After parting company with Emma in Canberra I took the bus to Sydney and spent some time with friends there. Then I took the overnight train to Brisbane, since it only cost $69, and I didn't have to pay for accommodation for a night on the train. It was 6am when I got to Brisbane, but I was able to get into my hostel room right away. Brisbane is called the River City, probably because it has a river that runs through the middle of it. You can always trust the Australians to be sensible about names. It rained almost the entire time I was in Brisbane, so it made for a depressing ambiance while I was sightseeing. My favorite thing to do in a city is visit the museums, so I did that ... read more

Ric: Sorry for the delay folks but the last few weeks have been pretty packed with activities and as travelers we have been experiencing the best Australia has to offer. After new year, Naz and I just could not wait to get back to somewhere familiar, which is why we decided we'd take a trip to Newcastle upon Australia. On arrival we found familiar streets such as Jesmond and Shields Rd, although those of you who are back home in the Toon will be relieved to know that these streets are indeed nothing like the ones back home. We stayed in a hostel near the beach, which was alright, apart from we shared the room with two Jormins who were obismal craic. Anyway we ventured out to the beach to find a million children on their ... read more

Spent my last day in Byron lazing either in a hammock or on the beach reading my book. Was very relaxing. Had new roommates that night (2 Aussie dudes, a German girl and a guy from Reigate), and we all sat out in the garden with a few drinks (tried goon for the 1st time, cheap boxed wine, pretty nasty as it was red which I don't like anyway), before all going out to a bar for some pool (which I won amazingly) and dancing. Was a great way to spent my last night there. Was a shame I was leaving just as they all arrived as they were a cool bunch, got on really well with the English guy. Got the bus up to the Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise, the next day and was staying ... read more

Today is a lovely sunny day in Brisbane. It's like I've never been here before, because the last time I was here, it poured down all day, every day. I barely recognise the place - which is strange, seeing as I remember thinking that I liked Brisbane as a city. Time to go and investigate to see if my memory is failing me or not.... First mission - return beloved Getz (not really - I can say it now that it's got me here to Brisbane OK, but it was a right rattly tin, that despite the presence of a 1.6 engine, tackled hills with the energy of a hungover snail). Brisbane is a finely tuned grid of one way systems, and despite the fact the road I need to get to is all of 4 ... read more

I spent my Saturday walking through Brisbane with Kevin O'Leary today. We met up at around 10:00 at the Queen Street Mall and walked to the Queensland Art Gallery. We crossed the river at the Victoria Bridge. The Gallery was really interesting there are some amazing pieces of Art on display. We then went to Gallery of Modern Art which was more my scene to be honest. After all this walking we decided to find a place to get some food. Our first attempt was a Turkish place called The Ottoman but it was way to hot in there they have no Air Con and today was definitely an Air Con day. After walking around in we found Ouzeri and we had an amazing lunch. The Food was good and the conversation lively. We had a ... read more

Here we are in Brisbane. Spent the morning in Cairns, before flying down here. A lovely sunny day again, but a little cooler here. Don't know how it will pan out next week as there is heavy snow in New Zealand - just about where we are due to go!! ah well, can't win em all.... Brisbane seems a nice city - lights are great at night! We are going whale watching tomorrow, so looking forward to that. Very tired tonight, so short blog entry - need an early night I think! will report in again tomorrow if I get the chance. G'night ... read more
