WOW WOW WOW WOW. We couldn't face going straight into Darwin. Driving for five days over 2500kms and we needed some time out and entering a city after being in middle of nowhere was extremely daunting. So we got to Batchelor 100ks south of Darwin and stayed in camp site very close. An early night after fun packed day and we were off to sleep. The next day early start and went to see the wonders of untouched australia before they built all these cities somewhere where the aboriginals probably lived many years ago! imagine living off this land! The last day with the car... I am getting very close to Darwin, the final destination of this part of my trip. One last place to visit - Litchfild national park. Since I slept so well in the car the night before, I started the day really early and had the whole park to myself in the morning. I stopped to take pictures of some HUGE termite mounds - far taller than me. The flies were so annoying there, I had to use my fly net again and even took a picture with it on, have a look. Then I wondered between the falls in the park - Florence, Tolmer and Wangi, all so beautiful. Morning was not the most welcome occasion after a long night by the campfire. After a pancake breakfast (we ate really well this part of the trip) and packing up tents and stuffwe hit the road. We got to Litchfield park at about noon. Since the Air Con on the bus was broken we were all even more psyched to get off the bus an into the water by waterfall #1. The water was cold, but once you got in the fun began. We swam over to a warmer pool, which was right next to the waterfall, and really deep. After some exploration was a hot dog lunch. The hot dogs here are this bright scary red color. they taste ok, but look creepy.We also licked the bums of green ants. (they are a snack) Swimming ... read more
