Blog Day 667 Well, it has certainly been a busy week, and I haven’t got a clue where it has gone. I type this initially in my office at 6.00am of Friday morning 03/09/2010, I have a tea, that I haven’t started yet and just had 2 slices of toast and jam. I am just typing the outline of this week so far, so I can finish it and post it over the weekend. Monday morning, was different, I had hired the scooter as you know, so my first journey in was an adventure in itself. I was up and away at 5.16 am bike started, pack on and I was heading off to work, I had forgotten the pleasure to being on two wheels again, but was mindful of being pretty careful riding in on ... read more

Well I type this sitting on my balcony at 6.30 am on Sunday morning with a cup of Coffee. Ten minutes ago I sent my first text to Caroline, wishing her a good morning, its 09.30 Canberra time so I new she would be up at at’em this morning, she told me that she was off to the Fyshwick Markets this morning, with Bec and Sarah. Caroline got her new bike yesterday, A Giant Trail Glide, she said and she is delighted with it, I think It will be included in her separate blog, in the next day or so. Blogging now takes on another guise as its letting Caroline see what hardships I have to put up with. You all know that I am on Christmas Island, that’s right where Father Christmas lives! Here I am marooned on a tropical island, 2400K’s from the West Coast of Australia and 300K’s from Jakarta in Indonesia. What I am not going to do is tell you anything about what I am doing here, that is work and I don’t want to compromise all the very hard work my colleague’s put in here. You may consider this a bit dramatic but here on the island, ... read more

Day 641 My journey started at 4.00am Monday morning and I was straight out of bed and kettle was on, I took Caroline a cup of tea as she did not need to be as quite as busy as I was going to need to be this early in the morning. Final things were done, teeth brushed, check, dressed, check, Passport, check and we were ready. Caroline asked me where her toothpaste was. “Have you seen it?” she asked “No” I replied. “Are you sure you didn’t pack it by mistake?” “No, positive!” The patrol was warmed up and we were off, 5.00am dead on, excellent, I would sooner be an hour early than 5 minutes late, it still felt like the dead of the night and the only thing around us that seemed to be ... read more
