I was unable to write last night, so I am now writing this for today and yesterday. I awoke with a smile on my face and decided that it was going to be a good day, and after I had packed up all my things the sun had decided to come out and was shining. Despite this it was still quite cold. The day was going great and I was cycling along some lovely open sea lochs which reminded me quite a lot of home. There wasn much breeze either which was great. I had decided to see how the day went and that when I had had enough I would look for a camp spot for the night. After about an hour and a half I met a guy riding south. He was a bout ... read more

We made it to our amazing little house in WA! it's so beautiful. there isn't any air conditioning but that's because there's no need for it! the breeze rolls off of the water making it cool. we unfortunately don't have internet though, but right now I'm in a coffee house using it. this town is amazing. I'm so in love with everything about it! it's cloudy and cool and just beautiful. my fav part is that there are thrift stores about every three feet here! i do miss my best friend Meagan more than anything tho :( I'm selfishly wishing that SC would blow up or something so that she'd have to move here!lol after i get done with my computer time here we're going down to the water to just look around. it's just so ... read more

Shalom, shalom ~ It has been one week ago, today, that we began our journey back to the United States. We arrived to meet our beautiful smiling daughter, MacKenzie, at SeaTac Airport having experienced an uneventful, safe trip. By 4:00 Wednesday afternoon PST we were back to our house of 19 years, the dog, the cat, the fish... We've been changed. Our home is forever in the Land of Promise, in the Land of the Lovely One, the Holy One of Isra'el. Blessed be HE! Now we are sharing our experiences with friends and family, while deep inside my chest is a gentle pain. I have heard of others with this same phenomena, so I am not surprised. To some degree you've felt it, too, at some point in your life. It 's a longing to ... read more

We will be leaving soon on our adventure to the Land of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the location of our soon-coming Prince of Peace ~ Isra'el! As the days are swiftly counting down, there are last things we need to get in order, this blog site being one of them. I have added many to my email list. If you get this, you are one of the many! Please, if you would like to be removed from our list, email me to that effect, and it will be done. Otherwise, "come with us"! Blogging is new to us, so please be patient! :) Rob will be the primary photographer, and Susie the primary computer person. If there's a problem, it's likely Susie's doing! Mitchel will be working to keep everything else in check. ... read more

Shalom Y'all!!! I am finally home I am really tired and my body is confused. Flight back was miserable, never take Continental!! Smallest, most uncomfortable seats and worst airline food of any airline I've flown. Southwest is still the best, too bad they don't fly overseas. I did not sleep more than 5 min at a time for the whole flight, flight was delayed at Newark, we sat on the tarmack for 1 1/2 hr before the 6 hr flight home, it was awful. Jim picked me up, when I saw him I threw my arms around his neck and didn't let go!! It was after 4 am before I was home and in bed, this after no sleep since the night before when I didn't sleep more than 6 hrs anyway. I am still unpacking, ... read more

Arousing early we arrived at the Space Needle at opening. The view was fantastic. The guide said you can see Mt. Baker 50 days out of the year and this was one of them. Very day of this trip we have had great weather. We walked by the Museum of Science Fiction and The Museum of Music. Most unusual building but they weren't open yet so we went to the zoo and saw a Komono Dragon. The zoo is organized with different areas and villages representing those areas. The animals have large very roomy areas. There were 2 groups of gorillas, one with a baby. And an orangatan. We then went to Redmon to see where Paul was born and visit the Microsoft center but it wasn't open or we went to the wrong place. It ... read more

It's the last day before we leave for Israel!! I'm all packed and the house is reasonably tidy. Laundry caught up, fridge impeccably clean, cupboards organized and everything labled (that I know of). Nothing really to do so I made jam!! I do this often before a trip, I make jam, not just ordinary jam, special jam from all the wild berries I've painstakenly gathered in the previous fall...I dunno why, maybe it gives me the satisfaction of knowing I've left behind a legacy or something. The weather here in WA has been hot (well, for us anyway) well into the 80s! It will make the transition into the 180+ degree heat of the Middle East much easier, or so they tell me..... Susan and I expect to arrive in Tel Aviv around 4:30 pm local ... read more

It's now three weeks before we leave for Israel!! Still have a few things to buy before I go. Tomorrow I see my new Dr. and discuss the many health issues that I have. I hope he can help me get the insulin situation under control. I don't want any problems so far from home Tuesday I get fitted for new shoes, I only hope they get here in time for me to wear them in a bit. I've been keeping busy with the gardens, I cooked up "a mess of greens" tonight, young turnip greens that I picked this afternoon, never had them before, they are delicious! ... read more
