We spent a great day in Cleveland with Mike. His mum stuffed us with an awesome "Death by Chocoalte". In the afternoon we arrived in Chicago, met Fairouz's Highschool Friend Nathalie, went to a great Jazz Bar.... read more

We started our trip on Wednesday morning, 7am. Great news! The key doesn't turn in the ignition! But after spending over 2 hours toggling the key we made it to Syracuse, where we were told we had to fix the ignition for 800$. However in Cleveland the answer was: change the keys for 40$...hmmm Oh and we stopped at the Niagra Falls.... read more

Hello, everyone! I am so sorry I haven't been updating this blog. Since I last posted, I survived El Salvador, Belize, and a return trip to Europe to visit friends and "family." Chris returned safely from Afghanistan, and we're now all settled in to our new lives here in Dayton. I am a graduate assistant and full time student at Wright State, and Chris has a rather stressful job on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. We're trying to entertain ourselves here in Western Ohio as best as possible...perhaps we'll have some interesting adventures this summer. We did manage to find a free week and a half to go back to Europe at the end of March...and this time we had a new travel companion: my brother, Kevin! All three of us had a fantastic trip to Paris ... read more

Hello all you faithful blog readers! I have finally made it back home and for the first time in a long time, I have no flights or trips booked. To wrap up my year of traveling and blogging I figured I would make the last entry an epic three part series that tell the stats, questions I'm asked, and what I learned and could teach others! So if you have any questions please message me and I will do my best to answer them. Now for some of the good stuff, and before you ask, all of these stats are as accurate as I could get them and true... ENJOY! Continents visited: 5 of 7 Continents visited three times on this trip: 2 (Asia & Europe) Countries visited: 29 Countries visited for the first time: 25 ... read more

This is a long blog...from Texas to Michigan to Florida, so there's a lot to write about. We hope you enjoy it... When you drive from the near bottom of the state of Texas, you’re about as far south as you can go in the contiguous (48) mainland states. Only below Miami, Florida south through to Key West is further south. We really liked Texas and especially the San Antonio area. Did you know that Texas is the most populous state only after California? 22 million and growing to California’s 36 million and shrinking. And I’ve read that of the 36 million Californians, only 11 million citizens pay taxes. 1 This is not a political blog, but I thought it was interesting that there are more people in California not paying taxes than live in the ... read more

Tis the season for… travel stress! Exponentially so in and out of France. Sad to leave, but for once, more excited to return home, to the best place for Christmas on earth. I had the perfect plan to stroll out of Lyon… Stay with Claire, have a great last supper in France (hamburgers with honey, chèvre and sautéed peppers) and catch the first tramway in. What happened instead were a rushed delicious dinner and a sprint back to the train station to catch the last tram for the night. They make it as hard as possible to travel, always. It wasn’t bus strikes and trains breaking down this time as it was in Tours, but airport security on strike. I took a series of power naps on the cold concrete floor throughout the night, checking around ... read more
