I think this is the time I should start writing about my travelling explorations. I had this vacation in winter 09 nd I decided not to kill time in Montreal even if it was extremely cold outside. Intensive Planning Over We are finally all set to go on the trip, it was a far more laborious process than I would have liked. Last Minute Planning Begins Now we scurry around for those things we may have missed. My only complaint is how bulky all of our camera and video equipment is, but then that is the point. My Sony that Pat gifted me 5+ years ago still takes amazing pictures, especially when mated to the lens adapter from Sony. 1st of November: We walked from the IICD Campus to the close by road M-62, from where we started Hitchhiking towards Cleveland, so our goal was app. 420miles. The first ride we got from an afro-american lady, who spends her time with lots of volunteer work to Elkhart, INDIANA. From there we have been picked up by a guy named Hans Heintzelman, who has Irish forefathers. He and his little son took us to Angola,IN. I just bought my ticket for next semester! gahhh! Is this really happening!?!?!? I will be flying with Aer Lingus. Leaving on the 9th of January from JFK, arriving in Dublin the next morning and flying into Vienna from there. On the way back, I'll be leaving Vienna on May 1 and staying in Ireland til May 10th! We leave Columbus tomorrow at 2PM and arrive in Phoenix at 3:15PM. We then have about a 2 hour drive from the airport to Sedona. Well, not actually Sedona...I guess I should say the "Sedona area"....our resort is in Cornville which is about 20-30 minutes southwest from Sedona. It looks like we should have good weather for the week - 80's through Sunday and then mid to high 70's the rest of the week. The flight to Cleveland was exciting. I hadn’t seen Kazzy in over 5 months by this point so I was pretty anxious on the plane. I didn’t realise but for whatever reason, the connecting flight from Chicago was actually different to the one I booked online. Don’t know why the airline did this but it meant my transit was longer and poor old Kazzy was stuck waiting at the airport for 2 hours longer that she should have. Sorry Kazzy. We hit the road and headed for Cleveland where we hoped we would find more to do than in Buffalo. After a couple of hours driving we drive through Cleveland, it wasn't better than Buffalo and there was no way we were going to park the car and leave it with all of our stuff in it! So we headed on through and found a hotel with pool and gym so hit the treadmills and pool and then headed out for dinner and beers in preparation for Detroit the next day! [View Full Entry]
