Well we got home last night. Everything went great on the flight; we actually arrived almost an hour early, so that was great. I thought I would just kinda sum up the rest of the trip, even though I'm home... The second day that we were in England, we went into London for the day. We drove to a tube stop a little ways outside of London and then took the tube to a stop near Buckingham Palace and started the day there. Buckingham Palace was cool, but not much different that when I was there in 2000. We then walked towards the London Eye by Big Ben. Then we went on the London Eye, which was really cool (but incredibly expensive!!). It was a gorgeous day out, so that was great. When I was there ... read more

Saturday I graduated from Augsburg with a BA in Music and a BA in German! It is a very big relief and I had a lot of fun. The graduation was at 11 am, and I had several friends there, as well as my mom, sister Sara, and Fiona (Sara's long-time friend, who came with her from England to visit.) Afterwards there were receptions for each department, so I went to the humanities one first, but missed the music one; oh well. I'm glad I was at the humanities department's reception, because I got to sit with my friend Matt, the only other German major graduating this year... so we had a bond. :) I got to meet his wife - he just got married about 1 1/2 months ago - and his parents. Then, our ... read more

El: We leave in 14 days! I'm getting really excited but at the same time and worried that I'm missing something. I got my passport today, so that's something I don't have to worry about, thank goodness. Mom leaves for Tucson tomorrow so Dad is going to stop by here after he drops her off at the airport. I think he's going to help me get some stuff for Mexico too. Well, I should get going. Tired tired tired. One tanning session left. Perhaps we'll go next week. *sighs* 14 days... I can't wait. -E... read more

El: Well, we leave for Mexico in 16 days. Still no passport yet! :( I have a feeling that I'm going to have to get it expedited so that I have it in time. That will happen next week if I don't get it by then. *crosses fingers* Let's pray! Off to bed. I'm tired and have lots to do before Mexico. I bought a new towel for the trip. It's amazingly comfy. I could sleep with it as a blanket. I might just do that in Mexico. lol 3 E... read more

El: Well, its now 23 days until we head out to Mexico. Luckily the exchange rate is looking delicious for our tastes. 1USD= 10.46 pesos. Cheap cheap! Not as cheap as India, but pretty darn close! Anyway, tanning has come to a halt as it's finals week. It will start again this week. A camera has been found via my brother! Thanks dude! Pre-mexico pictures will be up as soon as I get the camera! Love to all, El and Nash... read more

I bought my ticket. A one-way ticket to Hong Kong. The ticket snafu previously mentioned was of little consequence for me--almost worked out better for me, actually! Lulu says it may be a little early to check in for my flight, though...... read more

Yesterday I got my contract from Concordia Language Villages, so it's official - I am working at the English language village (called "Hometown Europe") in Ftan, Switzerland this summer! It is from June 30th to August 3rd. I applied for jobs at both that village and the German language village (Waldsee, where I work during the school year), and decided that if I got offered jobs at both, I would take whichever one contacted me first. My job titles are "mentor counselor" and "store manager." Ftan is a tiny little village of about 500 people near the border of Austria. It is in the Romansch region, meaning that the natives speak a dialect of a mix between French and German. The language used in business, though, is German. The majority of the kids at the camp ... read more
