I have lotsa pictures!!! http://jetsetseattle.zoto.com/galleries Ok. That’s that. I’m not gonna pull a bunch of emo bull in my last entry (sorry Jordan) but rather just finish it off. This part of the Toyko trip is over for now. I know I’ll be going back to Japan, so I guess it’s just a matter of when. Japanese is my major, after all. If there was some super huge life lesson that I am to get out of this whole experience, I haven’t got it yet. Reading the emails from all of the kids struggling to used to life back in the states again makes me feel that I didn’t do something right, or am not doing something right here at home. But fuck that! Really, I did NOTHING by the study abroad handbook and I wouldn’t ... read more

We have spent a couple of days in Minneapolis, its part of the twin cities in the midwest, the other city being St Pauls which is just a few miles away. The Mississipi river flows through the centre and there are several lakes to the south west with massive houses overlookin them. The city seems to be more a great place to live than a tourist hotspot. The place itself is lots like other US cities and seems clean and safe with quite a few parks. They also have a thing called the skyway, this is a series of public walkways that connect together many of the buildings in the city so basically you don't have to go outside to walk around, apparantly there are 4 miles of walkways. This is good considering the heat at ... read more

The summer has begun officially today and we are all back from our adventure together in Minnesota gathering the pictures and stories to put together memory books. Its hard to believe that the trip is now just a memory after all the months and years of planning. But what a memory it is. I don't think any of us was ever so excited to take a shower in our own shower, or sleep in our own beds! Although, after a night in my own bed and a long shower I (Melissa) think I could pack up and go again! Thanks to everyone for coming along on our adventures! Thanks to my travel buddies for providing a wonderful memorable expierence. Thank you to everyone we met along the way for sharing our adventures with us and feel ... read more

Hi everyone, Well...we think we have enough money to make it four weeks in Europe, but I guess we will find out when we get there! We are having our graduation party today since both of us just graduated and it will be nice to see family and friends before we take off. Our next entry will be from Europe, so we will say goodbye for now. Matt and Nicole... read more

Hello all. Sorry for the serious lapse of travelblog writing. Since the last entry, we've criss-crossed throughout the upper Midwest, drove through the Dakotas, and worked our way south to the brink of the Southwest. For your sanity and mine, I'll keep focused on the upper Midwest: a land of great friends, stout beer, big cities and small country towns. After crossing the US-Canada border into Detroit, we made our way past 8 mile to about 14 mile where we met up with Pat and Maria in their community of Birmingham. The small village filled with high-end stores and nice pubs was different from what we expected from Detroit, but we were both happy to see that there ARE areas still thriving despite the automobile company failures. After spending some time catching up and BBQing homemade ... read more

We are all very excited, as we sit in the Flight Lounge awaiting our flight to Paris. We hope we will be able to keep friends and family updated as our trip progresses on our first ever travel blog. We are snacking on chesse and crackers (and cookies), as it may be our only food between here and Paris. Cristiana says BonJour, she is ready to translate for our family, as she is in the second grade at a French Immersion School. We will keep you posted on our intinerary as make plans along the way. ... read more

Well here I am sitting in my room after four months at home, finishing up last minute stuff before I get on a plane for Tokyo in 12 hours or so. I'm not really that nervous--I'm just thinking a lot about getting back into the swing of things with school and getting along with everyone in Japan. It's weird, but I've wanted to go to Japan since I was about 6 or so. In elementary school I would always sneak around the foreign countries section (acually, just about a dozen picture books) and look at the Japan book. That and the book that taught you how to build paper airplanes. Anyway, it's been a fun last few months. I look forward to sharing some really odd things with everyone when I get back.... read more

Today is a big day for students and Villanova University and Boston College. We are playing each other in the sweet 16 round of the NCAA tourney. All the students at villanova anxiously await tip off at 7:10 tonight, and I have to admit, im nervous! Last year I was at the game in syracuse when we played UNC, and it was heartbreakingly close, only coming down to a couple bad calls and missed shots, and we lost. Because I can not be at the game this year because its in Minneapolis, I would like to thank technology for providing us with televisions so we can watch the game tonight! There is so much hype in the media about the tournament, I don't understand how a couple games can become "March Madness," where much of America ... read more
