. At Greenfield Apartment Today will be my first day in the office. As soon as I got myself dressed, I ran to the apartment's courtyard and took pictures of me and our apartment here. Snow has piled up for a few inches already and my boots were sinking deep into the ice. Still, it's a good thing the snowstorm happened a day before we arrived. Yes, it was Valentine's Day. Current Location: Greenfield Road, Oak Park, MI Current Temperature: 10F Okay, okay I myself need to convert that to Celsius... that's -12C -- Cold!!! I felt terrible. [View Full Entry]

. We left home at 5pm to get to the NAIA Airport. It was Valentine's Day - shall I expect a romantic flight? Hehe. Corny. (Hey I'm trying to cheer myself up! This trip is going to be longer than usual. I will be away from home longer than usual. And my lifestyle, well, a lot different than usual.) This picture you see was taken at DTW - Detroit Airport, Michigan. That's me, still smiling after 30 gruelling hours of travelling via 4 change planes. (Please don't ask me why we chose to fly this way. Don't get me started. Hehe!) [View Full Entry]

Welcome to the Detroit airport. First time ever flying through here. Really nice. Monorail inside the terminal going over our heads every few minutes. Little Caesar's in the food court. Nice last grab of Western food. The plane is a double-decker, so first time for that as well. Hope there aren't any snakes. 14 hours and we'll be in Tokyo. [View Full Entry]

This weekend we spent in Detroit. We'd heard before, that this is one of the world's most bizarre cities in that the whole downtown is more or less evacuated and everyone lives outside, and this was also more or less true. We could stay at a dorm at Wayne State university, which is perhaps a couple of kilometers from the city centre, and here there were some activities, but we realised that they all depended on the university. Friday evening, we went around in a car with our acquaintances here, Mark (who's actually from West Virginia and still NOT a hillbilly, [View Full Entry]

Well, the United States of Ameeeeeeericaaaaa is exactly as I had envisaged, Big cars, Big Hwy's and Big all over. After 30hrs of travelling it was good to finally take a shower and get some shut eye! The flight over was smooth and all transit points were quite simple. Going through customs at JFk (New York) wasn't as bad as I thought, as long as your up front as to whatever your carrying it's all go. We didn't end up getting the Chev Impala SUV, however, the Ford Explorer SUV isn't a bad ride. The first time I decided to [View Full Entry]

Tuesday night after camp me n Kim went to the Royal Oak music theater. We got there to see a band called the Secret Machines just starting, who were pretty good. There was about half the amount of people there was for Ben Harper. Which was good because it wasn’t too crowded and we got up nice and close. When they came out the singer had shaved his beard and he looked a bit pretty boyish, with his voice not what I expected him to look like. It was super loud and poor Kim was half deaf for a few days [View Full Entry]

Week 8 Camp North America » United States » Michigan » Detroit
Last week of camp!! Time has gone so quick it’s crazy. Me n Kim had the older boy group this week. It was a pretty good week, the boys weren’t too badly behaved and on Tuesday I went to see the Kings of Leon in concert. Then on Friday we had our farewell dinner, which was a bit of fun. There was some fun awards like camp flirt and most likely to sing camp songs after camp. Ying made up a slide show of the summer on power point, which was a laugh. No more thursday nights, no more "i miss [View Full Entry]
