Biking Cheboygan, Michigan’s North Central State Trail Text and Photos last updated: 2015 Number of times on this trail: 2 Location: Indian River to Mackinaw City Distance: 55 km (34 miles) Distance markers: miles Surface: crushed limestone Width: 3 metres Grade: Mostly flat This is a crushed limestone trail. In some places it is very firm and in others it can be very sandy. A hybrid or mountain bike would be perfect but a street bike would find it difficult, in places Indian River is a good place to start this trail. The 28 km between Indian River and Cheboygan runs along the western shore of Mullet Lake past cottages and nice views of the lake. The drive from the Northwest Michigan Fairgrounds Campground in Traverse City MI to the Cheboygan State Park in Cheboygan MI on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 was totally uneventful. I had received a phone call from Cheboygan State Park officials reporting that the lift pump in the dump station was out of order and that, therefore, the dump station was out of service. It was good information as I generally dump my holding tanks after making the journey (to let ‘em slosh around real good and get the big chunks off the bottom of the tank). Thursday was a great day for laundry because it was (as forecasted) gloomy and threatening but with minimal actual rainfall; however, Friday found me heading for Mackinaw City MI and the Mackinac Point Lighthouse. Hola todos. No a habido nada nuevo recientemente y es esa la razon por la que no habia entrado a este site. Pero por el 4 de Julio (Dia de la independencia de U.S.A) nos tomamos una vacacion en familia, El destino fue Beaver Island (Isla del Castor) en el lago Michigan. Es una isla muy pequeña con un area aproximadamente de 145 km² y una poblacion permanente de 800 personas. El gobierno local de la isla hace lo posible por conservarla en su estado original y es por eso que el uso de vehiculos y mantenimiento de calles es minimo. Incluso durante nuestra estadia no vimos semaforos ni congestionamiento vehicular, El uso de bicicletas es muy comun entre los turistas.
