Angels 9, Red Sox 2 We are trying our hardest not to be completely exhausted everyday, but its catching up to us. We are trying to write this on the bus because we don’t think we’ll be able to do it when we get to the hotel. We started the morning somewhere… in Massachusetts. We drove into Boston and met up with our city tour guide. He was not our favorite, we think we were spoiled by our fabulous NY tour guide. Anyways, we wish we could have had more history, but it was nice just to be able to see the city. It sure is beautiful. (We have been very lucky with the weather. It is rather warm and humid, but it has not been too hot. It sprinkled on us a little tonight as ... read more

Geo: 42.3585, -71.0596Today was spent in the car. We left Quebec about 9am and headed off on Highway 73 south to Maine. The day was warm and sunny and the going was pretty good. We stopped about 10-30am in St Georges for brunch and then crossed the USA border into Maine. We drove through the Appalachian Mountains. There were Pine trees, Lakes and grazing fields. We followed Highway 95 down towards Boston taking it in turns to drive. As we approached Boston we followed the road into the city centre but soon realised that there were few motels here. We drove out towards the airport thinking that there might be hotels near ther. Logan airport is not far away. However, there were only the expensive chains there. We were told that a little further on we ... read more

Well last night turned into morning, and we didn’t get to sleep until well after midnight. We had to get up by 6:00, be packed and up by 7:00 to fight the traffic from Newark to the Stadium for our tour. There were two groups, we were the second. We didn’t mind getting to have breakfast first though at a little local diner a block away from the stadium. After breakfast we headed over, and the neighborhood really didn’t look much better without all the fans in the street. The Yankees were very accommodating, and gave us a nice (brief) tour. First we went to monument park and saw all of the retired jerseys and plaques dedicated to past Yankee greats. Yogi Berra, Lou Gehrigh, Babe Ruth, and Joe Dimaggio were just a few. Mom decided ... read more

Hey all, Boston, Massachusetts - the stereotype is always good, for the most part. We managed to check out the best of Boston, starting from the historical Freedom Trail (and all of those important elements: Boston Commons, State Capitol, historical churches along the Trail, cemeteries) to the sophisticated campuses of Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University in Cambridge. A day trip to the Cape Cod was a relief from the hectic city life, and we opted to chill on the prestine shore of the Cape. We got some nice tan and good relaxation. Until next time, -Cy... read more

A man may stand there and put all America behind him -- Transcendentalist writer Henry David Thoreau, about Cape Cod I can recall maybe around six or seven times in my life when I have suffered from somewhat severe sunburn; but this particular time is different for several reasons. One, it is a cheerful reminiscence of a perfect and relaxing weekend, chillaxing - chill and relaxing at the beach by experiencing the Atlantic with all of my senses, in addition to some care-free napping, is the way to enjoy a warm summer day. It is definitely a nice escape from the daily grind of professional, stressful work behind desk, working on AutoCAD. Two, I’m proud of the fact that I have become a part of the prominent, long tradition of the New England summer vacation on ... read more

Dear All, There are so many schools in the Worcester, Massachussetts area. I was able to drive through two (Clark University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute) before heading to my first visit, College of the Holy Cross. Website pictures did not deceive me; Holy Cross’ campus is as pretty as advertised. I encourage you to visit. COLLEGE OF THE HOLY CROSS If you have time before or after an admissions office visit, I encourage you to connect with a professor, coach or other person of interest at a school where you may have a specific interest. Call, in advance, if you can. Prior to my tour and information session, I met with Holy Cross’s assistant head football coach. One of my rising seniors asked me to check out the campus since he was getting letters from the ... read more

Well, we decided to take a really laid back attitude about this trip and may have gone to far. We left our cash at home. We realized it at the airport and thought, how hard can it be to find a branch bank and get some cash? Well, Massachusetts doesn't have a Washington Mutual. Who knew? All's well that ends well, for a small fee, it was really easy to get cash from an ATM. We are usually so well prepared we've never had to do that before. Other than that, we had a really good day. We had a good seafood dinner, something we can't get at home. We are staying in a hotel just a block or so away from the Boston Commons. A really beautiful park. I took lots of pictures. Tomorrow we ... read more
