Waiting at the service area door, Cory was first in line this early morning. They had our appointment as scheduled. Fairly soon after, our service advisor, Darnel Green, came out to our RV to see and review our issues. We were in agreement as to what we wanted checked and repaired. He gave us an early appraisal of cost and would get back to us later in the day with a more conclusive one......after the mechanics and technicians had a chance to actually decide what was wrong and what was needed. Cory and I and Lulu waited in the service area waiting room. Cory roamed the building and the grounds. I played on my Ipad. We charged our electronic devices plus Cory’s Ryobi battery charger for our portable fan that we used for dear Chip to ... read more

We tried to put as much time & journeying into our last few days at Tropical Palms as possible. We did pretty good but would have liked to have done more. BUT there’s late October of this year when we shall return and begin our bucket list all over again. Hope you are planning on joining us. Wouldn’t be the same without you. I’ll give you plenty of notice as to when to start packing. Just keep watching for my faithful blogs. Friday, April 20th, we waved good-bye to our sturdy little golf cart. It took us on many fun rides around our park. The storage place we use comes to our site and picks it up on a big trailer. They take it to their large building where it sits and waits for our return. ... read more

Fix It A storm rolled through last night jolting me awake sometime in the dark. There was a little rain but not much wind so I was able to go right back to sleep. So soundly in fact I didn't wake up til after 8 am. After our morning routine I decided the best thing to do was fix the bathroom door hinges. The bottom hinge is broken completely off the door and the top hinge was hanging on by one piece of metal where there should be two. The bottom hinge was still good so I replaced the top hinge with the bottom one all with the door still hanging from the middle hinge. There was a need to wedge the bottom of the door to keep it from falling then wedge the gap in ... read more

The one about the pain of getting your RV serviced. I still feel pretty good about my choice of not watching the later part of The Golden Globes last night. As I watched TV this morning, yes, I missed George, but…..what I did notice ALL the reporters talking about was the Fey/Poehler monologue, and trying to explain it! I must not have been the only one who didn’t get it. I feel vindicated, but I am as guilty as those I accuse, because I am still talking about it. I did not sleep well. I was hot; I was cold; the dog woke me up; I had to pee, you name it I tossed and turned. I woke for good at 5, dozed until 6 easily broke camp to head across the huge property for my ... read more

The one about feeling old all day Happy Birthday to my baby girl Kristine. 31 year old today, and I sure feel old. How did this happen? Seems like just yesterday. And, her baby Hudson did his first legitimate crawl today, one day after I was no longer with them. Growl. Sorry I missed it. Up early and broke camp quickly, before it downpoured for 10 minutes. I just made it inside after a quick goodbye to Ginnie and Kim; I will see them again in a week. The ride over the river and thru the woods to Lazydays RV resort was uneventful and easy. Along the way I passed an unusual (to me) community called Mount Olive Shores. A blurb from their website: Mount Olive Shores offers a truly unique style of living. It is ... read more

We're back! We've landed at Lazydays. We knew this relocation was on our agenda...just not sure when AND not sure for how long. This visit is for the repair of our damaged side compartment door from that sneaky rock in Pennsylvania on Dec. 31st. Lazydays called the other day and said to be here today. We packed up and closed up the RV and left at 8:00 AM this morning. It only takes an hour to get here (Tampa). Lulu has been having a good time since arrival....she always takes full advantage of the situation no matter where we are. Just a party gal at heart. The fancy new RV Lulu checked out in the photos was just wishful dreaming...we didn't buy it even though she cried and carried on. Too bad, Lulu...not this time. I ... read more

The One About Being Drained Out. I slept like a rock last night until the alarm woke me up at 6:30, then still stayed in bed dozing for another 30 minutes. It felt wonderful. Despite the fact that Steve/Delivery specialist told me he would be by early in the morning, I knew he wouldn’t. And, I was right. What does first thing in the morning mean to all you all? The work hours start at 8. On the outside, in my world, first thing is certainly not hearing from him by 9:15. I was giving Lazydays until 9:30 before I blew a gasket, but I really have been trying to keep my stress level under control. I took lots of deep cleansing breaths. At 9:22 two old guys drive up, that’s the way things work here, ... read more

The One About Taking Delivery of my new RV So much has happened over the past couple of days, it is all a jumble in my mind. I will try to sort it out. I did not write about the peaceful days of Tuesday and Wednesday. I did hear from salesman Joe, who assured me we were on track for Thursday. Kathy and Ginnie and I and all four male dogs (Kathy has dachshund Oscar) spent time catching up, walking the dogs, laundry, Walmart, eating out, stuff you do when you are on a Snowbird trip. I left Wauchula just before 8 on Thursday and followed the route Garmina set up for me, over the river and thru the woods thru small towns, orange groves, strawberry fields, and landfills. Down the road about five miles, I ... read more

Putting the gray hair, ulcer-maker, stroke starters behind us, we programmed the GPS for Lazydays. Smooth Sailing now .... Or so we thought! About 50 miles from Lazydays, Cory looked in the side mirror and wondered what was flapping on the side of the motor home! YOU DO NOT WANT ANYTHING FLAPPING! We pulled over and looked all around the RV. Didn't see anything. Then we started touching the sides, etc. Found the problem....the wall section around the back wheel was loose so as we drove, it "flapped" out in the breeze....."waving" at everyone as we traveled. It must have loosened when we were hung up on "the rock". Crap! So Cory got out his trusty bungee cord and strapped it up and we were good to go. This has not been our easiest trip South. ... read more

An RV is a pothole into which you pour money. Our Tiffin Phaeton is serving us well but needs attention periodically and especially pre summer trip. LazyDays is doing its part to prepare us. We're also busy reanchoring our manufactured home and selecting "only the necessities" to take with us. Cappy is getting ready by getting clipped for the hot summer. We're also practising the musical routines required at the Calgary Stampede as part of St Petersburgh's Awesome Second Time Arounders Marching Band show. Onward to the West. ... read more
